Aside from modeling, the best part of my time at #MiamiSwimWeek was the incredible people I met and the amazing food I got to enjoy.

My main goal was to stay open to all the good experiences that came my way, and I can honestly say that goal was accomplished!

Until next time, Miami. 💋

Literally made from a bag of rags...

This dress was constructed from edge cuttings from upholstery fabric. It actually came to me in a garbage bag, just a tangled pile of strips. I braided the pieces into long cords and twisted them into the shape of a bodice, handsewing each piece into place.

The skirt is made from random pieces of cream colored chiffon, mostly cut from old curtains.

The result is ethereal ✨️ especially when transformed by model @alymashae

First Fittings: Measurements & Outfit Selection for the MAVEN Fashion Showcase hosted by @l.ilmama

March 21st 5-11pm
@ the Lyric Theater

Our group will be OPENING the 2nd half of the show. This pageant queen @alymashae AKA Miss Kentucky Grand will be leading the charge!

Many of the models in this group are FIRST-TIME runway models!

As part of the @prometheanstudios Senior Ambassador program, I'm working with emerging and aspiring models to help them grow their portfolios and offering guidance and support in their process.

Modeling and pageantry both get a bad rap (and for good reason!) but both industries can be an excellent opportunity to learn poise, confidence & self promotion. Being able to stand up confidently in front of a group, knowing how to speak up for yourself, and learning how to navigate complex social interactions, these are all important skills that can come from the runway and the stage. I feel privileged to be guiding and encouraging these young ladies in the process.

The collection features a "back to the basics" esthetic with looks designed from #upcycled #denim and button down shirts.
