My summer began 6 weeks ago when I sold all my stuff, packed two suitcases, and decided to travel and figure out the meaning of life in true Sagittarius fashion. Life has not yet been figured. Apparently that takes longer than 6 weeks??? 🫠But there has been lots of traveling, plenty of good food, a little rest, a bit of work, a smidge of robbery, and a dash of reformer Pilates which I’ll never do again. Yall can keep that 😭

Always taking suggestions on places to go and things to see! 🤗🤗

Happy pre summerrrrrrr 🌞✨🩷

This is for the people who have stayed behind the scenes for too long. 🤍 Preparation is necessary, but sometimes what started as preparation becomes a hiding place.

There comes a point where God isn’t asking for more preparation. He’s asking for your presence.

If He’s opened the door, if He’s created the opportunity, if He’s called your name, then trust that He has also prepared you for the room.

God didn’t bring you this far to stay hidden.

So grateful to stand in for my brother (@dextersullivan) alongside @heyreneeshow to talk about BLAC Legacy Day yesterday ✨

Overjoyed doesn’t even fully cover the emotions.

The DIY Table did not disappoint per usual. Honestly it wasn’t just the table, it was the event as a whole. Watching what people can create when they believe in each other and share a common goal is something else entirely that can’t be put into words. @revampswapfest is proof that when you bring the right people together magic actually happens.

Coming back to the DIY table for the second time and seeing people walk away with skills and knowledge they won’t forget, that’s the part that gets me every time. Scissors flying, fabric scraps everywhere, denim getting a whole new life, people digging through supplies and figuring out exactly what their piece needed. Sharing advice, tips and tricks I’ve collected over the years and watching it click for someone in real time?

There’s honestly nothing like it.

Thank you to everyone who came out, stopped by the table, connected with me, and asked for advice. Every single conversation meant something. I see you and I appreciate you more than you know.

Thank you @amandasweetlive for building a space where people can get fly, network, learn new skills, and just be authentically themselves all under one roof. What you have created is a movement.

To go from swapper at the Fall 2025 swap to leading the DIY table for the second time, I don’t take that for granted. Not at all.

And if yesterday had you wanting more of this energy… stay tuned. Something is in the works. 🪡✂️🤎

laaaate quarter 1 recap

i’m working to build a boutique movie theater in Detroit (@treusecinema) and to transform moviegoing entirely using cinema as a catalyst for community building. Cooking up something exciting for May! 🤪

The framework I’ve built through 6 years of digitally mobilizing communities into action is near complete with @digitalmovementmedia but putting it into practice with a couple of clients (could be opening for 1/2 more clients!) Check my podcast episode on Nonprofit Nation out!

It’s important to me to cultivate the friendships I have and the new ones I’m building, so I’ve been hosting dinners at my home with the most extravagant one being my favorite with 26 women sitting at a table and connecting! I can’t wait to do it again. I miss my NYC friends bad and I’m hoping to make it home briefly this summer for another dinner get together once my coin gets a litttle higher.

I’ve leaned into baddie, big boss energy. I know I’m spiritually protected and universally guided, seeking the highest alignment with self. Shoutout to my therapist I see once a week.

took my shahada on the phone with Aya’s mommy which was more important to me than I realized and I struggled during my first Ramadan as a revert but looking for ways to be more on my deen and strengthening iman. will do it at the masjid with @nadahabibaa (maybe on a Miami visit 👀)

quarter 2 is shaping as the biggest quarter of the year for me. I’m grateful to everyone around me who has handled my dreams and passions as their own. life is so good right now, alhamdulillah.
