Just another week in the holler.

🌄🌄🌄🌄🌄🌄🌄🌄

“Heaven on Earth”

“There’s a heaven here on Earth, I swear,
Down where the tall pines scent the air.
Greasy Creek, she winds and sings,
Beneath the sky where the redbird wings.

Them mountains rise like God’s own hand,
Watchin’ over this patch o’ land.
Skies wear blues you ain’t never seen,
From softest dusk to morning sheen.

Clouds hang high, but close enough,
You ride that ridge when the air gets rough
Pine Mountain’s back’ll take you through,
Right where the fog drinks up the dew.

Ain’t no place I’d rather be,
Than tucked away by Greasy Creek.
Where time walks slow and hearts run deep,
And even heaven’d stop to sleep.”

Some of my favorite summer highlights. Always the fastest season to go by for me!

It’s been a beautiful and blessed one. I am humbled by the teachings and lesson from this season from midwifery to motherhood, I don’t take it for granted.

Ultimately I am just thankful to see another year around the sun.
In a few weeks will approach two dates that are pretty triggering for myself. A year since my bad car accident & 2 years since Helene shook us deeply on so many different levels. I know God and all my angels above have greatly protected and watched over me, and surly means I have so much more to accomplish.

Always make time for your people and love them hard & endlessly , life can change in a blink of a eye!

Despite it all I am just so happy and thankful for my life and the ones that are in it. 💛🌼

Motherhood is meant to be a little chaotic but also meant to be done in commuinty. It can truly be the little things you set in motion to shift your current flow.

What a blessing to be able to drive up the road and hang for a few at a dear friend house.

The simplicity and importance of community in motherhood.

I had a awkward amount of time between summer camps on top of it pouring rain out. I could have easily just retreated home but I did not crave or want that this week. So what a simple joy to be able to just retreat to another home full of kiddos and bask in the chaos together instead of alone. 🌧️

Just some of my favorite winter highlights!

Thankful for this beautiful warm and slow season of life.

Just going where the wind, mothers & babies call me too.

Lots of intentional and heart driven moments have already been embraced and my cup is beyond full already at this new year.🌀

Now that the holiday whirlwind has passed, I can finally take a moment to share this cozy home birth from just days before Thanksgiving 🧡

Just mama, baby, her little family, and midwives — witnessing an intense, quick, powerful birth as the sun slipped below the horizon.

And in true birth-world fashion, her midwife (@thecherokeemidwife) was freshly postpartum herself, having given birth less than a week prior.

Strength, softness, and absolute magic. Strong as a mother 💪

How it started vs how it’s continuing…💫

Because at the core of this midwife of yours is a mother.

Mothers guiding and holding mothers.

Each one with different skills they bring to the community. Different wisdoms and heart medicines being passed and shared amongst one another.

But at the end of the day we are mothers just mothering.

This dear friend of mine has been so sweet to me in the many years we’ve been friends. One of the first mothers I be friended when I moved to a new county to me. The first mother to show up for me in a postpartum time , when we were merely internet friends and had not even met in person yet. I’ve witness many stages of her since we’ve been friends and it is the highest honor to witness and hold her during the threshold of bringing life forth.

Just mothers showing up as we know we need.

So of course as a midwife even in my own postpartum when a mother calls I will surly go.

And always such a honor and full circle moment; when we are both still in the raw birthing realms just different stages.

That is how community midwifery ends up being and the roots it always had. 🪷

I am blessed to have been surrounded by so many amazing women during this pregnancy. Just a portion of those that are a constant in my life seen here. All so special to me in some unique individual way.

The love and support of a village is everything in motherhood, we were not meant to do this alone.

Find your people and gather & love them endlessly together. Some of these women I have been friends with for over a decade and some just since motherhood. It is possible to find your community, if not create the one you desire.🙏🏽

✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨

Nothing could have prepared your heart to open like this.

From beyond the skies and the stars
This echo arrived inside of you and started to pulse with life
Each beat a tiny act of growth,
Traversing all our ancient shapes,
On its way home to itself.

Once it began, you were no longer your own.
A new, more courageous you, offering itself
In a new way to a presence you can sense
But you have not seen or known.

It has made you feel alone
In a way you never knew before;
Everyone else sees only from the outside
What you feel and feed
With every fiber of your being.

Never have you traveled farther inward
Where words and thoughts become half-light
unable to reach the fund of brightness
Strengthening inside the night of your womb.

Like some primeval moon,
Your soul brightens
The tides of essence
That flow to your child.

You know your life has changed forever,
For in all the days and years to come,
Distance will never be able to cut you off
From the one you now carry
For nine months under your heart.

May you be blessed with quiet confidence
That destiny will guide you and mind you.

May the emerging spirit of your child
Imbibe encouragement and joy
From the continuous music of your heart,
So that it can grow with ease,
Respectant of wonder and welcome when its form is fully filled

And it makes it journey out
To see you and settle at last
Relieved and glad in your arms.💫

❤️‍🔥 Shout out to my dearest for this community Motherblessing she pulled together for us. @sovereignmomentsservices ❤️‍🔥
