i took over 3,000 pictures in ann arbor over the past four years. glancing through my photo library, i revisited memories i would have otherwise forgotten.

visual guides i made for mr. watz's questing project in ninth grade.
the time i brought a selfie stick to school in tenth grade and vlogged around the student center.
in eleventh grade, my presence kept getting recorded and put on snapchat stories, titled "norm cams." (thanks alyse) this even went as far as being spotted at a chick-fil-a twenty miles from campus.
senior year was probably the most difficult quarter of high school, but it was also the closest i've ever been to my friends.

my high school experience was fairly abnormal, but then again, that's fair to say for my entire school life. i took classes with those well-established in their lives and with grandkids of their own, commuting over half an hour to take a three-hour physics class (never again), and i drove to ohio just to try raising cane's with daniel and david after class. the social life was subpar, staying diligent was imperative, and the people you saw every day in ninth grade would quickly disappear until graduation.

despite the challenges, i'd do it over again. many found the yellow soft skills manual tiresome, but i truly believe these experiences have shaped who i am; these lessons will carry into the next season of life.

i'm blessed that my next adventure won't be far from this one—that i may stay in ann arbor and carry out my mission of making a difference in the lives and environment around me. that was the intention from the very beginning, and the testimonies given to me have made it clear i'm not doing that bad of a job.

endless gratitude to my family and mentors, my professors and faculty, and my friends—some of the coolest people i've ever met. some of your next chapters will be far away, others close to mine. regardless, i'm excited to see all the places you'll go. and to my greatest support and savior, Jesus Christ, who inspired me to be a light, persevere through difficulty, and trust in His plan.
