There is something undeniably magical about an Upstate NY fall weekend… especially when spent outdoors with your favorite people. 🍂🍁

We traded our usual weekend routines for cold morning camp coffee, crisp autumn trail miles, and cider donuts. Basing ourselves at Robert Treman State Park, we spent the weekend chasing cascading waterfalls and soaking in peak foliage across the Ithaca gorge network.

If you’re planning a fall girls’ weekend or road trip in the Finger Lakes, save this exact weekend breakdown:

🏕 Basecamp:
Robert Treman State Park: Pretty quiet, wooded campsites that place you right at the trailheads for Enfield Creek and Lucifer Falls.

🥾 The Waterfall Hikes:
    • Taughannock Falls State Park: An accessible, flat 1.8-mile roundtrip walk along the Gorge Trail leading to the dramatic 215-foot waterfall.
    • Cascadilla Gorge Trail: A unique urban-to-nature trek with beautiful stone staircases running right alongside cascading water & Cornell University.
    • Buttermilk Falls State Park: Perfect for stunning photo ops right from the base, with rim & gorge trails offering lush autumn foliage overhead.
    • Lucifer Falls: Right in our backyard at camp, epic towering gorge walls and historic stone structures surrounded by peak colors.

🍎 Local Bites & Cider Stops:
    • Ithaca Bakery: The ultimate stop for hearty breakfast sandwiches and hot coffee before hitting the trails.
    • Indian Creek Farm: Unbeatable fall energy! U-pick fruit, pumpkin patches, and without a doubt, THE BEST warm apple cider donuts in the area.
    • South Hill Cider: Sunset views overlooking the valley, cozy fire pits, and refreshing post-hike craft beverages.

Autumn days move fast, but these memories (and donut crumbs) stick around. 💫

Have you explored the Ithaca waterfalls in the autumn yet? Drop your favorite spot below! 👇

📷 And shoutout to @isabelsweetphotography for all the best pics of our adventures!

Just a little sneak peak of the GORGEOUS GIRLS waterfall weekend near Ithaca🍁

Got to explore a ton of waterfalls I haven’t yet and it was lovely. However I may have had some FOMO because it snowed back at home and I missed it!

From babies to having babies. Walking into that bar 11 years ago I had no idea the joy, love, memories, and adventure that were in front of me. Best decision I ever made.

We had so much fun checking Busch Stadium off our list today (15 for Mama, 16 for Dada, and 3 for the little guy)! We clapped and danced and cheered, ate a hot dog, and even got to meet Fredbird - he didn’t love the Lindor jersey.
