REVIEW: BEASTLY LIGHTS
On @watchcandyjar

This one is extra special for me, which is why it took forever for me to get out because I was debating on whether to have this as one post or as separate ones.

I had the amazing honor to see this during an advance screening with the CandyJar team and the experience of watching a vertical with others really hits different. I usually watch my verticals by myself in my free time - or max with two other friends.

And I think that really amplified my watch experience of Beastly Lights (which I first thought was a werewolf vertical from the title alone 😅). I found myself laughing, swooning, and gasping out loud with everyone in the room!

@neelajolene and @pablo_kaestli as the musical power duo lead couple were perfectly cast. Neela as Freya, the sweet country gal with the good girl image, and Pablo as Liam, the typical bad boy playboy rockstar. I loved how the fake relationship actually benefited both of them.

Freya wants freedom from a controlling, gambler of a brother who cares more about her image than her dreams.

Liam wants credibility as a musician people can actually take seriously.

I just wish we got to see the final product of their musical collaboration. That was the one missing piece that would have pushed this to an A+ for me.

@sarahsampino is such a standout as Lucinda. Every time she is on screen, she commands attention. I genuinely wanted more of her, and honestly, I would not say no to a sequel 👀

Overall, Beastly Lights is such a fun, crowd pleasing watch that proves how powerful this format can be when it fully commits to character and emotion.

Super grateful to everyone at CandyJar for such a warm welcome. I loved getting to meet everyone behind the magic and watch this amazing vertical with them. Please do continue making great stories for us 🙏✨
