I’ve been thinking about how the closest friendships don’t require permission either. You don’t really ask before thoughtfulness. It’s in the little things. She tells you your lipstick is wrong and then fixes it herself without waiting for you to agree.
It’s such a small thing and it took me until my thirties to notice that it only happens with a few people. The ones where there’s no negotiation left.

After this epic coffee date to @golddome.coffeestop with @alyssakinghiggins heres everything I’ve learned about ordering seasonal drinks, from someone who has never once resisted one 🎃
🍁Go the first week it drops. It’s always worth it and sets the tone for the season.
🍁Order it iced even in fall. Hot drinks in a novelty vessel are a burn waiting to happen, and it doesn’t hold temperature the way a cup does.
🍁Ask what’s actually in it before you assume. Half the pumpkin drinks in this city are syrup. The good ones taste like the maple and the spice, not just sweet. This Maple Delight was delicious
🍁Bring someone. These are unserious on purpose. Doing it alone in your car is fine but doing it with your friend screaming in the passenger seat is the whole point.
🍁Don’t skip the small shops for the chain. Nobody with a corporate menu is doing this for you.
