Value the importance of presence in the struggles of others. When they show vulnerability, dive into the depths of their emotions and feelings without dismissal or blame of external sources or other being. Their struggles are real and you can shine light wherever the sun seems to be setting #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthmatters #canmore #banff #alberta

It's not about the number of countries I've been to, but the deep lessons I learn every time I come back, about myself.

Each time, feeling more 'cracked open' to ideas, thoughts, experiences and potential

Each time, connecting to strangers who become friends who become family (you know who you are ✨)

It's so easy to hold on to comfort, ease, and sometimes we need that

But, the world has much to offer if we let it in 🕊️

--
At the end of 2021 I knew I needed to get back out there and see the world again.

We had been in lockdown, and I had been working in healthcare for long enough that I needed to do something for myself. I wasn't going to spend another long, cold winter in Canada.

I wanted to be somewhere warm, with beach, nature and adventure.

A portion of my Master's degree was online so I thought, why be here when I can be anywhere else?

I found a yoga teaching opportunity in Tenerife, and that was the start of my 3 months in Europe in 2022...followed by many other adventures that came.

I'm super grateful and thankful for all the people I've met this year (here and abroad) and for all the relationships that I continue to have 🤍

--
This 2023, I hope to focus more on my relationship with myself -- 'cracking open', healing and rebirth 🌱

Look who came to visit us! 🇮🇹 🧔🏼🤣🍁😱

Who remembers Lulu 🇮🇹 (aka Luca /Ali Baba / The Italian Stallion) from my stories? 🙋🏻

Well, he actually made his way all the way over from Italia to visit us in Toronto last week.

❔❔⁉️ How many places in Toronto/Canada can you identify in the photos? Name them below 👀

SWIPE ⬅️ to the end for a nice surprise 🤣😎🎙️

He brought a long a couple of his Italian co-workers, now whom I'd happily call, friends 🥰, over for a tech conference.

Together we:
🍁 Went to their first gay bar & met some drag queens 👑
🍁 Went to Niagara falls + hiking by the whirlpools
🍁 Tried Tim Hortons-- I must say, that really "disliked" the coffee, and referred to timbits as "balls of sugar", which was an honest and accurate description 🤣
🍁 Had some authentic Mexican & Vietnamese food
🍁 Saw a snake 🐍
🍁 Wandered aimlessly in this concrete jungle

Boys, can't wait for my tour of Italy once I come over to visit you all 😎🤣🥰

I will never forget where it all started. The people who taught and supported me. Friends, who just KNEW. The things we saw. The things we shared.

Traumas 🚑
Resuses ☠️
Code whites ⚠️

Things others may never understand.

So thank you, for everything. These past few months have not been easy but I know that every single person coming through our Emergency is lucky to have YOU.

You guys are the 💣💣

I've never been the greatest at staying in one place...next up, BC for a few months! 🏞️

Machu Picchu: one of the world's wonders. Machu picchu mountain: 3061.28m above sea level with an amazing view....Reality: total of 6hr hike (up and down) with endless numbers of steep and narrow rock steps. A.k.a. stair hell. 🔥 #machupicchu #peru #sonya6300 #southamerica #travelphotography #blackandwhite
