I was working a long day at the office and my good friend @s.emilyhubbard hit me up. She suggested dinner at @amafishtown and made us a reservation. Little did I know that my life was about to change forever. Thank you Ama for the life changing chicken and oysters. I’m eternally grateful.

🔔 So...this is NOT everything I ate in Philly, just some highlights 😝
(I did eat a cheese steak from Angelo's, but we failed to take a pic prior to devouring it)

Roast pork sandwich. My gosh, everything was so soft and flavorful!

Tons of mussels, came with fries

This place has a bar option, and then a dining room option where you need to make reservations for. For the dining room option, the number of items you can select from the set price depends on how many in your party. For a party of two, it was four seafood entrees and one side dish.

⚠️ DO NOT HAVE BIG PLANS after this meal. 😂 You will be full with the deliciousness of butter and cream!

Cocktail bar with small food menu

First time I had a scrapple!

Pastrami egg and cheese sandwich with latke'd hashbrowns and dill pick cream sauce situation. The eggs were soooo fluffy.

Lamb neck birria. Not pictured: tuna tostada, swordfish tacos, pulpo (small serving), and churros. ALL were delicious. I would go back to eat just their 6lbs pulpo.

Got my apple cider donut ♥️

Chicken kebab. We did the chef's counter option that includes five appetizers and one entree. Their chai latte is phenomenal.

A cocktail that has aged coconut rum, white rum, melon liquer, pandan coconut water, bitter bianco, and salt. Yes you keep the frog. 😂 The cocktails were so good that we went back a second time!

I wanted to try every mezcal on the list. Instead, I ordered just one.

For years, my move was to do a flight.

It's still a great way to find something new.

But this time I picked a single bottle.

Two or three pours in, I could pick out the layers. I also knew whether I'd want it on my shelf at home.

For more insights on this tasting and a recommendation next time you're in Philly, check the link in bio.

At any given moment, there is a good chance I am thinking about food. When I am not thinking about something I have cooked or what to make next, I am probably thinking about something incredible I have eaten out at a restaurant. Here is a compilation of the dishes that have been on my mind the most over the course of the last 8ish months. Mainly Philly area with some NYC mixed in.

1. A Trenton tomato pie from @cjdtomatopies . Some of the best pizza in Philadelphia that operates out of Cartesian brewing three days a week.

2. People who know me, know how much I love onion rings and @sergeantsvilleinn makes some of the best onion rings I have ever had.

3. An outstanding pastry spread from @rougaroubaking with standouts being the peach cobbler tart and the jambalaya hand pie.

I am not lying when I say every single dish from my dinner @theodorabrooklyn could be on this dump, but my favorite flavor combination of the night was the prawns with pineapple pico de gallo.

There’s a reason I have been to @myloup.phl twice since April, and one of the biggest reasons is the incredible raw seafood options. This is a Plateau Fruits de Mer and the standout to me is the pickled shrimp with aioli and saltines that you have to try to fully understand.

My disclaimer is that these are the only pastel de nata I have had, but from people I know who have been to Portugal, I am told that these absolutely hold their own. We went for the blueberry/corn pastel which was ridiculous. The chocolate/sea salt and original variations stay on my mind as well. @gildaphilly

The honey butter hoecake with trout roe and smoked trout salad from @saophilly was as ridiculous as everyone says it is and was the best bite from a seriously great dinner.

Two amazing slices from @lindustriebk . These were the fig/bacon and the margherita slices.

@charpizzaphl is where I chose to celebrate my birthday and I was so glad I did. They make some of the best pizza in the city which I have posted before, but their desserts are some of the best in the city as well. This is the chocolate cream pie.

Like I said before, I have been to @myloup.phl twice since April, so I had to post them twice. This was from t
