I thought I’m not gonna do this anymore, but then Lena asked me where are my month stories, so lets just bring them back, shall we? And let’s pretend those two months didn’t pass 🤓
Danced the night away in P79’s throwback 00’s hits, went to bed at 6am, I think we can call it a good night! 🤙🏻🕺🏼
Celebrated Jiyoung’s birthday with super homemade cake (I promise we didn’t set the fire alarm with those candles)🤫
Another dinner visit to the Happy Italy. For Jaime It was more of a snack visit (you know, Spanish time) so he just prevented the hunger with two meals 🍕🍝
Started the Harry Potter marathon and got totally drenched on the way back home. Well even if it’s raining cats and dogs you still gotta bike! 🙋🏽
Did some Christmas Shopping with Amalie and listened to the local orchestra while enjoying our glühwein, den Bosch surely got some Christmas atmosphere🎄
Went back home, said YOLO to all the beers, then regretted it in the morning while going to the mountains. Got super drenched again but had the best time anyway! 🏂
Celebrated Christmas Eve, ate soooo much food but had the greatest time being back home ❤️
Took the car, snacks and snowboards and went off to another adventure where we had the most dreamy ride in the sunset 🙌🏼 Also I need more “Annika in Lidl” moments in my life and more of these spontaneous trips with this top notch girl! 💃🏽
Ended the year in a calm way, just surrounded by nature and endless amount of snow…and I loved it! ✨ Thank you for such a lovely December! ❤️

Better late than never. 😏
November, the birthday month. Celebrated the day of the death, painting our faces and then looking like idiots in a club because we were the only ones looking like that, oh well✌🏼
Had the most amazing and sweet birthday surprise thanks to Jaime with a little help from Amalie and Lena. Thank you guys so much! ❤️
Then celebrated another birthday, this time Lena’s, with another round of cards against humanity and 2 packs of pepernoten 🍪
Fought our never ending cravings with Amalie in Coffee Lab drinking Chai Latte, talking for hours, watching Bad Moms and then burning those calories while putting IKEA furniture together 🤛🏼
Traveled to Haag, fell in love with the sea once again and saw the most amazing sunset. Also got some pretty good coffee from the BOON roasters👌🏼
Went to Utrecht to see SYML and Harrison Storm, it was siiiiick! Then met both at the bar and chatted a bit, I mean, could the night got any better than this?! Thanks for the invite! 😉
Took couple of analog photos with the young aspiring photographer Lena 🙌🏼 Amelia and my arm stood as a model, please send the request for autographs to my assistant 😉
Visited some museums in Eindhoven and attended Codecrash workshop which was surprisingly great, this coding thingy is fun! 🙃
Went to see the new Fantastic Beasts movie, was good. But what was better? The freakin’ cinema where they have those chairs where you can put your legs up and just sink into the most comfiest chair ever 🤤
Thanks for such a nice month! ❤️

Feel like October just drop in for a minute and then was gone👀
Kicked it off with great dinners tasting Korean and Danish dishes, the girls also tried Czech bread-not sure if they’re a fan tho🙊
Stepped out of our comfort zones with Lena by buying the gym membership for a year and now I have to face the everyday challenge to be seen looking like a freakin tomato after every run🍅 I dont know about you guys but there is sth about working out in public to me that is super embarrassing. Guess that’s just sth you gotta get over if you wanna stay fit🙆🏽 Expanded my creative bubble at Playgrounds animation festival and fell in love with Mediamonks’s presentation about passion projects🙏🏼
Celebrated Ben’s birthday with Cards against humanity and Amalie’s birthday with a proper 3 course dinner (not bad!)🍽
Broke the record and run my first 13km, pretty proud of myself, the only problem is I cant walk properly now. I guess my knee and hip decided to give me a lesson just in case I’ll get another brilliant idea of running more than 10km😏
Spent some Thursday nights at the Arcade finding my talent at those fighting games and winning over Amalie every time, but it’s all good she found herself in driving cars. Jiyoung also found her new career in the dancing step thing. So girls, if in any case the designer life wont work out,we know what to go for😉
Autumn break came, quickly visited Prague, got a tattoo and then went back to Den Bosch with my parents and lots of apples in the back of our car🍎
Showed my parents around, took the canal boat ride, tried the pub where they brew their own beer (its nice!) and visited IKEA more than we wanted because they forgot to put the screws in a package🔩
Apples found their purpose mostly in loads of baking, baked my first ever apple pie and basically apples on infinity ways,I still have too many-any ideas how to use them?🤔
Visited Design Week, saw great projects by the Design Academy students, beautifully hypnotic installation of flower lamps, ate very expensive Red Velvet and got creeped by real life looking robots👁
Then we went to London, but that’s a story for another time👋🏼

September was definitely the month of food - you know you’ve settled in if you start to have cravings for sweets again 🙄
Firstly we visited Den Bosch’s museum with AnneMarie and looked at the food industry which was kinda eye-opening experience for processed food - not sure if I still like donuts and meat tbh 🤔
Then we went to “Little Italy” which is actually called Happy Italy, but I just always mess up the name. 🍕Here we bought the cheapest pizza and then went to a festival organised by the school and danced the night away🕺🏼 Tasted the famous Bossche bol with Amalie and Jiyoung, it was so sweet that I couldn’t finish it and had to throw it away - oops 🤭
Spent some afternoons on the beach in Vught where Jaime found his “builder” talent showing it off to Amalie who was one of the brave ones to swim in a cold lake (heads down!) 🧜‍♀️👷🏽
The school started; first classes, more introduction to lessons and a lot of presentations. Got to see everyone’s work and found out that it’s quite nice that we all are coming from a totally different design background. ✨ Got my studio on the ground floor and a week later moved upstairs because I missed people and busier co-working environment. We also did a printing workshop, which was pretty cool! 🤟🏼
Now that the weather is changing I seriously miss terrace chilling, you could just sit there talking till 2am and there is nothing as nice as that 💔
More swinging on the beach, more biking around the city, more running in the forest and way too much coffee again…but oh well 🤷🏽‍♀️🤓
Thank you for a great September! ❤️ #TheNetherlandsStories

Decided to put together mini monthly series of my experience here in the Netherlands🇳🇱 Starting with August, because I'm such a late dumbhead to things🙈 It’s weird, sometimes I feel like I’m here for a long time already and feel scared that these 2 years gonna fly so quickly like *BAM* and it’s done. But when I look back it’s only been 2 months that we’re here, so just chill Annie🙆🏼 I’ve spent a few days in Airbnb before I moved to the student halls which was a senior house before. Now it’s more like a party house filled with clouds of weed smoke and trash bags in the hall and occasional visits from the police guys👮🏼 Here I also met Amalie for the first time, she asked me if I’m also gonna study at AKV because she thought I look like a designer haha. We explored den Bosch for a bit and went for a coffee, pretty nice day🙃 Avans organised a welcome day in Breda for all the international students, the highlight was definitely the musical boat ride through the canal-Spotify for the win!🕺🏼 I painted my room to white because the oddly brown-ish colour was nothing for me. Thank you dad for giving me a lesson by always taking me along with you painting rooms in our house👋🏼 Bought my bike from a grandpa who only spoke Dutch and thought I made a good deal, unfortunately, it broke after 2 weeks, so I had to get it fixed. Looks like I didn’t really save that much after all🤦🏼‍♀️ The school started, introduction days seemed like they’re never gonna end, but we survived. The amount of coffee I drank here could easily fill up the canals in Den Bosch, but who cares when you have a good company to drink it with and nice coffee spot with DELICIOUS banana bread(need to bake it the next time haha)☕️ The thing I love the most here is definitely nature, running paths around the lake and in the woods are to be dreamed for! The beach with a swing set is just adding up to that. The lake could have been a little warmer though when we jumped in it on one of the first nights haha🙌🏼 Last but not least, we visited the graduation show of animation, which was beautiful! So much inspiration pumping up into my veins👏🏼 Thank you guys for making this month wonderful!❤️
