In Transit: Greek Artists Abroad
5 – 26 Jun 2026

Private View:
Wednesday 3 June, 18:00 – 20:00
Hellenic Centre, 16-18 Paddington Street, London W1U 5AS

Join us for the private view of ‘In Transit: Greek
Artists Abroad.’

In Transit is a sculptural dialogue
shaped by the lived reality of standing between
places and identities. Bringing together Greek
artists who have worked abroad, the exhibition
reflects our shared in-between state—where
memory, displacement, humour, and adaptation
collide—revealing how constant movement
reshapes who we are and how we belong. Each
work emerges from the friction of distance:
between homeland and host country, memory and
present time, certainty and reinvention.

2025 marked an exciting year for Elizabeth Xi Bauer, beginning with the opening of our second location, EXB Exmouth Market, in celebration of the gallery’s ten-year anniversary.

Across the two spaces, the gallery has participated in major events such as London Gallery Weekend @londongalleryweekend, Deptford X @deptfordx, and the UK/Brazil Season of Culture @brazilembassyuk. Additionally, EXB organised an off-site exhibition at the Liszt Institute London in Trafalgar Square, in collaboration with the Hungarian Cultural Centre @hungarian_culture_uk.

We extend sincere gratitude to all who supported Elizabeth Xi Bauer throughout this monumental year, and to each artist who featured in our programme.

Tomorrow, Saturday 15th November, is the final day to visit ‘The Fabric of Life’ at Elizabeth Xi Bauer, Deptford.

‘“The Fabric of Life” is not about universality but intimacy. You enter the artists’ private worlds, and in doing so, you catch glimpses of our own. As Kyritsopoulou observes, even the most insignificant things have “the potential to resonate,” and here they do, revealing recollections and nostalgia, presenting the works in their rawest, most uncompromising form, yet leaving space for us to weave our own memories into them.’ - The Courtauldian

Elizabeth Xi Bauer extends sincere gratitude to all who have visited the exhibition so far.
