Not many people ever get to work with their best friends, but for the last 9 months I was lucky enough not to be “most people” 🥹

While I admit I’m going to be sad we don’t get our chats between sessions, goofy looks across the treatment area, or our lunch time walks anymore! I am sooooo excited to see all you go on to do and accomplish!

You will forever be one of the kindest souls and best PTs I’ve ever crossed paths with and I am a significantly better PT today than I was 9 months ago since I got to work with you! 🫶🏼 I’ve loved growing with you through PT school, work, and life! Even more to come 🫶🏼 @amanda_lewindpt

THE CLIMB BACK

Definitely ONE of the TOUGHEST journeys OF MY LIFE!

🔺Today mark 6 weeks post op and damn it’s been a journey. Weeks 4 and 5 I’ve gained a good amount of strength where I was able to do 3 sets of 10 leg lifts without pain or crazy amount of inflammation. I am now able to get in and out of the tub easier and put more weight on my injured leg than usual.

🔺 I was able to get 25 degrees of flexion which I was very surprised considering that I haven’t bent my knee for 2 months.
-
🔺 In PT, we used today more of an evaluation day since I was just so limited to things post op. We measured the scar of the incision and evaluated the inflammation prior to bending. Then we got into movements to see where I was currently at. I didn’t feel weird at the knee but it felt weird in terms of that I’m relearning how to move again. Definitely an exciting day for me since I haven’t bent my knee in a long time!

A lot of what I’m doing is building my strength back up, working on deceleration, and getting more explosive again

Slowing my body down under control, strengthening everything around the knee, and then translating it into more powerful movements.

Trying to make sure I’m not just back… but better than before

Taking it day by day and stacking small wins

Movement after injury isn’t about pushing harder.
It’s about healing smarter.

One of the biggest myths is that injury means stop moving.
Sometimes it means slow down.
Sometimes it means modify.
But it rarely means do nothing.

My PT @amanda_lewindpt keeps reminding me: listen to your body, be cautious, don’t make it worse… but keep moving.

Because movement is medicine.
It increases blood flow, reduces stiffness, and helps your body feel safe again.

Healing doesn’t come from forcing it.
It comes from staying connected to your body and moving in the ways you can.

Progress doesn’t stop with injury.
It just changes form.

Healing is still forward motion. 💪
