“Two truths about me: I hate memorizing things. And too often, I wait until the absolute last minute to get things done. I work best under pressure, or whatever we procrastinators like to say.”

That’s how I opened my final performance at my most recent storytelling class.

[Shout out to @amanda_rountree one of my favorite people to both take the stage with and learn from.]

The story that followed? A behind-the-scenes, truth-filled ride about what really happened during my TEDx journey, from last-minute rewrites to life throwing curveballs the night before the talk.

Even after 15 years of performing on stage, I still sign up for classes.

Still look for spaces to grow. Still say yes to learning in public. Because great storytelling, like great leadership, is a lifelong practice.

📸 This photo is from our final performance, and I’m sharing it as a reminder: your voice evolves every time you use it.

And if you’re ready to stretch yours?
Last chance to learn from me in a group setting this summer, doors to BECOME close this weekend.

Message me for more information.

Your voice is your most valuable career asset. It’s time to use it.

For the first time ever, I got to meet one of my book coaching clients in person! I had the amazing opportunity to work with @amanda_rountree on her contemporary romance novel and now she’s doing events and signings at bookstores!

If you enjoy books with small town vibes, art, food, romance, and a cozy fall atmosphere, definitely check out Low-Key Collage by Amanda Rountree!

HEY ATLANTA: If you have any interest in celebrating the holidays this year you actually only have TWO CHANCES to do it properly. Science shows that no Christmas season is complete or correct without A Hallmark Family Christmas of a Lifetime, an improvised play in the style of a made-for-TV holiday rom-com! We are performing this beloved tradition of a show TWICE:

Saturday, Dec 14 at 8pm at @dynamiceldorado
Saturday, Dec 21 at 8pm at @limelightatl

The link for tickets is in my bio. I really hope you’ll come and bring your friends, family, lovers, and enemies! Old or young, big-city-slicker or small-towner, huge fan or huge hater of the Hallmark style…there’s something in these shows for everyone. And because they’re improvised based on YOUR suggestions, every show is different! You COULD come to both!!! WOW!!!!!!

GET INTO THE SPIRIT! LIVE LAUGH LOVE YOUR WAY TO CHRISTMAS CHEER! VALIDATE MY EXISTENCE THROUGH APPLAUSE! THANKS!!!

@amanda_rountree is publishing her first novel and I had the immense pleasure of illustrating and designing the wraparound cover! Congrats to the both of us!

This also marks the occasion of filling in the second Daruma-eye for accomplishing the goal (made when filling in the first eye)! Many thanks to my friend Dwight for gifting it to me when I made a big life change to pursue more illustration work.
