🆘SENTIMENTAL POST🆘
A lot happened in 2017!!! I moved to LA -on accident- after being a messy touring merch guy for my young adulthood and having a traumatizing tour get cancelled on the date we were supposed to play at the Fonda in Hollywood. I just kinda stayed around LA and kicked rocks, and never left. Of course some of it is because I met my Fiancé, Jesse, but a lot is because of these women. After years of sleeping on couches, living out of vans or tour buses, and managing an abusive YouTuber for a bit lol (the lore kinda goes crazy), a friend here finally got me the most random job working as a hostess at this boujee celebrity nightclub (which was hilarious to me) and without expecting it, I became best friends with my coworkers and built a life here 🥲 3 years of working together and sharing the drudgeries of wage labor in nightlife, and 6 years after that seeing each other grow up into our adult lives with our adult responsibilities. These women are so special, I’ve seen them grow in so many ways and our lives have all changed so much. We are all so different, but overlap each other in such funny and out of pocket ways that makes for a perfect friend group that’s been able to stay strong for almost 10 years. I’m posting this now because i am feeling sentimental, and because Amanda, the glue, is moving away and I’m SAD ABOUT IT. I always thought for sure I would be the first of our friends to move away, and she beat me to it. I am so proud of her, and grateful that she showed me what a good friend is. Amanda, I love you so much, dude. ❤️ In late stage capitalism, I’m learning how to pause for a second, to be grateful for what I have and to appreciate my close friends and family more. I know this isn’t my usual type of post but whatever. I hated that nightclub job, went from a hostess to a bottle server and have met everyone from Jamie Foxx, Leo, and Beyoncé (but it was so unethical it made me a communist lol) but I’m so forever grateful it threw me into the orbit of these special people 😭 and TRUST, you will see The Plot group chat back together again soon 🎉 ps, this song is suuuch a funny choice but it’s burned into my brain from the clerb
