POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

✨️ ENVIRONMENT
✨️ MONEY
✨️ JOY/FUN

Oktober so far:
- Omgeving 10/10 (zie 📸). ;-)

And last but not least, mocht ik al meermaals op haar 2 Braziliaanse katten passen, die inmiddels een ander thuis gevonden hebben. 😻 (foto is van de katten hier).

Waar ligt jouw focus dit laatste kwartaal?
_________

Nieuwe plek voor een week.

Uitzicht vanuit bed/werk 💻

Nieuwe vriendjes gemaakt. 🐈 😻

Moving abroad, moving back home, starting over again... Julia has done all three, and this line from Episode 123 of This Expat Life has stayed with us.

After ten years in Thailand (a bakery, a restaurant and a yoga teacher training along the way), she's
back in London and building again.

Host @amandamaxime asked @juliapanchkowry how she keeps becoming someone new, and her answers are the ones you'll want if you're standing at your own
crossroads.

Full episode, link in bio.

Save this for the day you need it, and send it to the friend who's starting over.

Some say the first week in a new country is the hardest. For me it's the best: no one knows me yet, and I get a blank canvas.

The move is the same. What comes up depends on you. That's why inner work matters if you want to thrive abroad.

🎧 In Episode 122 of This Expat Life, I share the 3 things I'm doing differently as I leave The Hague for Mexico. Link in bio.

Mariel is an American who’s done a combination of living, studying, teaching, and working abroad in the Czech Republic, UK, and Canada over the last 14 years. She is currently working on translating those experiences into fiction in two coming-of-age novels.

Amanda is Dutch but international at heart. She’s spent nearly a decade abroad, mostly in Brazil, London and Argentina, and is currently moving to Mexico City. After a career in diplomacy, she now works as a coach for expats - and is writing her first non-fiction book, on how serial expats can be their own anchor abroad

This time a year ago I was sitting staring out at the stars over the Yucca Valley, CA.
With friends I didn’t know a year before that.
In a house that dreams are made of (I pushed hard for this desert 🌵 house in the group chat 😜).
I went for a business conference but added on a few extra days and as usual got more than expected.
Conversations, friendships and experiences that I will remember forever.
When you run your business alone make sure you also find your people.
And take the trip with them! Even if you are unsure of how got the 🏜️ desert will be in August ☀️.
Also find a friend who loves filming as much as you do ;). And will back your airbnb selections.

@drthorns and @amandamaxime 🙏🏼 thank you.

Sometimes life doesn't fall apart one piece at a time.

Sometimes everything happens all at once.

Loss. Heartbreak. Big life changes. Uncertainty. Grief.

In today's episode, my friend Amanda @amandamaxime shares her incredible story of growing up in an unconventional family, navigating the loss of both of her parents, and how what she calls her "perfect storm" became the beginning of deep healing.

One of my favorite parts of our conversation is this reminder:

✨ The more we're willing to feel our pain, the greater our capacity becomes for joy.

Healing isn't about pretending the hard things didn't happen. It's about allowing yourself to process them so they no longer define your life.

If you've ever walked through grief, experienced family dysfunction, or found yourself in a season where everything feels overwhelming, I think this conversation will encourage you.

I think it is no secret that we are ‘all in’ on our business.

We love what we do. We love the impact our work has on our clients. And we love the freedom it creates.

However…. There is this part you don’t always see on the socials. And that is the part that we are overcoming all of these fears and insecurities

Being an entrepreneur is a personal development journey on steroids!

Entrepreneurship will humble you. But it will also build you into someone you don’t even recognize (in the best way!)

We are very fortunate that we don’t have to do it alone. And I really think you are not supposed to.

We met at BBD (business by design) and had this instant connection. We all chose a coach who gets ‘it’. There is no superficial, surface level stuff in BBD. Yes you will learn a lot of practical stuff and you need that. But the biggest ‘win’ is the personal growth and the shift in identity.

@jameswedmore is hosting a free coaching session and I want to invite you to just sign up.

Especially when you’ve been feeling stuck, if you have been hiding or if you have been second guessing yourself.

Get in the room, listen to his wisdom and tap into something new. Especially if you are an entrepreneur or if you have been feeling the desire of becoming one.

Want the link to sign up? Send me a dm.

Ps; did I tell you this is free? And there is no sales pitch either. This is just James being James. He has changed my life, maybe he can change yours too.
