Not all gels are created equal—especially for 4C hair! 👀 Here are 3 combos I’ve tried and loved:

1. Uncle Funky’s Daughter @unclefunkysdaughter + Innersense I Create Hold. @innersenseorganicbeauty
2. Miche Gel + Mousse — or the gel on its own; The Doux mousse can work too. @michebeauty_
3. XPO h2o the curlformer3 @xpoh2ohaircare — great on its own, especially on damp hair.

The right combo really depends on the hold, definition, and drying time you want. ✨ Save this for your next wash & go! 🫶🏾

Flaxseed gel has been one of my favorite simple DIYs for natural hair 🌱✨ It gives my hair that extra slip for detangling and can help with definition and hold.

This is your reminder: learn your hair, then learn how to care for it. 🤎

Happy natural hair anniversary to me 🤎🌱

11 years natural, and what a journey it’s been. It’s been so interesting to see how much I’ve evolved while staying true to myself, even through all the trends that sometimes make you question whether you’re caring for your hair “the right way” or loving it enough.

There’s been a lot of learning, unlearning, experimenting, and adapting. And I’m still learning because our hair is part of our lives—it changes with us through different seasons and stages.

I’m really proud of how far I’ve come, and I’m even more excited to keep learning from a more educational and professional perspective, understanding hair through different lenses and helping others better understand and care for theirs.

11 years down, and I’m still learning. 🤎

My Cornrow Diaries | Ep. 1 🤎

Cornrows are one of my favorite protective styles—when they’re done right. If they’re not, they’re coming out immediately. 😂

This series is where I’ll share my hairstyles, salon experiences, and everything I’ve learned along the way. Some stories will be quick reels, while others will be longer videos.

Stay tuned. ✨ #cornrows #naturalhair #4chair #naturalhairstyles #amanipure

While we’re grateful for all the new tools and products available on the market, the key will always be becoming comfortable with your own hair.

Whether you use homemade hair butter or a store-bought leave-in conditioner, your hair isn’t going to magically transform—unless you damage it with heat or chemically alter it.

It’s the same hair you’ve always had, with only slight changes for some people due to climate and environment.

What truly makes the difference is learning how to care for your hair consistently. The fundamentals haven’t changed—you simply adapt your routine to your current climate, environment, and lifestyle.

Your products can support your journey, but your knowledge and consistency are what transform your with your hair.

Before anything else, you need to start consuming hair content. The more you expose yourself to healthy, realistic hair journeys, the more comfortable you’ll become with your own hair. That’s how you build interest, appreciation, and eventually love for it.

Then, pay attention to people whose hair resembles yours.

• If your hair is short, follow people with short hair.
• If your hair is dense, follow creators with dense hair.
• If you’re trying to restore your hair’s strength and volume, follow professionals and DIY educators who focus on healthy hair.

The content you consume shapes your expectations. Curate your feed to match your hair goals, and you’ll begin to see your own hair through a healthier, more realistic lens.

Help yourself see your hair differently.

Your wash days will be completely different once you switch to a thicker conditioner. 🤎

A good, rich conditioner gives your hair the slip it needs to make detangling so much easier. That’s thanks to the right balance of conditioning agents and emulsifiers that help the product glide through your strands instead of sitting on top of them.

If you’ve been struggling with tangles, don’t be afraid of thicker formulas or rich butters. They can make a huge difference—especially for thicker, curlier, or coily hair.

I’ve been loving this @patternbeauty one lately, and it has made my detangling sessions so much smoother. ✨
