Davos, what a week.

The spirit of dialogue was alive and present in the Swiss Alps last week.

Dialogue is not a news anchor telling you what’s happening.

Dialogue is not social media showing you a version of what’s happening.

Dialogue is real people - from different backgrounds, political stripes, and lines of work - engaging with one another, even when we don’t agree.

It’s the shared acknowledgement that the world can be better, should be better, and through dialogue, will be better.

This experience was a powerful reminder that each of us has more agency than we often give ourselves credit for… and that shaping the future isn’t reserved for a few, but belongs to all of us.

I headed to #wef26 in Davos as a part of the Global Shapers #D40 expecting to be a spectator on the edge of the world’s most exclusive stage. I left a different person! 🇨🇭 When the white badge comes off, the raw, beautiful, & sometimes terrifying truth of it all is left. 🏔

My week was full of moments I swore I was dreaming:

🎹 Singing my heart out at Barry’s Piano Bar with the Shapers

🫕 Taking the funicular up to the SchatzAlp for a night fondue

🤫 Private, closed-door sessions with Harvey Mason Jr., Yo-Yo Ma, & Christine Lagarde (I really got to know her #iykyk)

👑 Sharing meals with the King of Belgium, Annalena Baerbock, and the Premier of Bermuda, only to literally bump into Gavin Newsom in the hallway

Behind the magic were real learnings:

⚓️ Proximity is everything. You have to stay close to the problems you want to solve. True leadership is being willing to sit with the discomfort of the front lines rather than observing from afar

💪 Vulnerability > Ego. I learned that intelligence agencies actually target people with big egos because it masks insecurity. The hardest leaders to break are the ones who lead with openness. Vulnerability isn’t weak; it’s a strength

🔮 Serendipity is a skill. We spend so much time engineering our lives, but often the best moments are unplanned. Stay open & humble and be ready for when the unexpected happens. Not everything happens for a reason, but we have the power to give every moment a purpose

💼 Leading the world is also just a job. Honestly, it’s a lonely, terrifying one. Seeing world leaders as human, sometimes overwhelmed, made me realize the guardrails are thinner than we think

🧭 Find signals in the noise. We’re in a global rupture. We have to tune out, turn up, & stop playing along. Together, our generation has to believe in our power to make a change and put that into concerted action

If I had to sum it up, I left with a dichotomy of feelings... I’m scared as Hell because I’ve seen the fragility of the world represented in a room. 🥺 But, I’m simultaneously filled with a relentless hope, especially by my fellow Shapers! ✨️

Being in Davos was the honor of a lifetime. Now, it’s time to get to work. 💪

The WEF Annual Summit 2026, Davos 🇨🇭

Still can’t believe that I had the privilege to not just be in the same space as Heads of States, Ministers, Celebrities and Top CEOs, but more importantly, to have been able to bond with some of the most incredible youth from across the globe, all shaping the world into a better place 💙

So grateful to have been able to represent Southern Africa, @globalshaperscommunity , @tshwanehub and @resoluterobotics on a global stage, and share some of the work we’re doing, but more importantly, to also put SA on the map, as a country full of young, driven, passionate talent 🇿🇦

A trip summarised in just a few stills:
1. At the entrance of Congress Hall, excited to have been able to share insights from SA, and learn from some of the best. 🤯
2. A video atop one of the oldest areas of Zurich, said to have been the same way since the medieval times, and barely changed since 🏰
3. Smiles and Signature gang signs at the top of the iconic #Wef26 Annual Summit Stairs 🤘
4. Seeing snow-covered ski villages for the first time (Because the snow, and the villages 🤪)
5. A picture after a mind-blowing panel on AI and personalised sound, with none other than @iamwill
6. Sitting mere meters away from Brett Taylor and @steven learning about what it takes to build, in what felt like a private masterclass 🎻
7. Listening to @thisisbillgates share insights on healthcare funding and the impact that reductions has on lives being saved 🏥
8. Sitting in a packed Congress hall, with mixed feelings, watching @realdonaldtrump launch the new “Board of Peace” with some of the most powerful Heads of State on Stage, causing mixed emotions in the entire audience 🇺🇸
9. Dinner with 12 Nobel Laureates resulting in an incredible conversation with these 2 biologists, leaders in mRNA research. 🔬
10. Riding the car down from Schatzalp after a sad but beautiful farewell lunch on the final day 🏔️
11. Some of the amazing D40 Delegation, who have become beloved friends for life and inspire me every day❤️

I’ll be back…

SHAPE LATAM - @globalshapersba 🇦🇷🌎💙.
.
