Kelly + Alexander at Wind Mountain Ranch 🤍

A celebration where every detail had a reason for being.

From the beginning, we wanted the design to feel distinctly them. Art-forward, modern and beautifully restrained, while deeply rooted in the cultures and people that shaped them.

Against the beauty of the PNW, clean lines and sculptural forms created a quiet contrast to the mountains surrounding us. Their welcome installation took cues from modern art and minimalist sculpture. Tablescapes were intentional and understated. At the center of it all, a custom brushed-metal bar anchored the reception, illuminated by Kelly + Alexander’s names glowing from within. Above it, we created a suspended linen installation that moved with the wind; part chandelier, part sculpture, and completely alive in the landscape.

Their cultures were woven throughout the celebration in ways both subtle and unmistakable. Dahlias and proteas nodded to Kelly’s Latina heritage and Alexander’s South African roots. Stationery and signage carried those influences through every space. Live keys accompanied the walk down the aisle, a mariachi band filled the mountains with music, handmade tortillas were shared around the table, and churros made their way onto the dance floor.

Some of our favorite details were the ones you couldn’t simply find on a design board. They came from family, culture, tradition and the way Kelly + Al wanted their people to experience the day.

It’s easy to make something beautiful. What made this one special was making it mean something. Kelly + Al, watching the two of you marry surrounded by the people who love you most was an absolute privilege. Thank you for trusting us to tell a little piece of your story, we love and adore you both. xx

Never have I ever seen a cooler bar at a wedding. WHAT?!

@lightsmiths.seattle x @stevenmichaeldesigns Wowowow. I can’t decide if I’m more obsessed with Kelly & Al’s bar by day or by night… Regardless, if this was an art installation at a museum I would be telling everyone I know to go see it and buying tickets to experience it again. This has ruined me. 😧😮‍💨😮‍💨

They met on a strawberry farm & he proposed at the top of dog mountain so naturally the wedding was strawberry themed & we all woke up at 4am to hike to the top of dog mtn 🤘🏻 a hallmark movie but in real life this day was a dream! Here’s some iPhone behind the scenes. A couple favorite decor touches were the hanging strawberry florals (the bride is also a florist I know it keeps getting better) the mix & match floral place settings with handmade napkins for each guest & of course the stunning double ceremony arch ✨
