MOKEB has been one of the most exciting and rewarding creative projects I’ve worked on in recent years, and I can’t wait to share it with you. I really hope many of you will come experience it with us!

We’re bringing @mokeb.play Off-Broadway for six performances at @amttheater45, as part of the @rjtheatre @circletheaterfestival, from October 26 through November 14.

Get your tickets at the link in bio!

MOKEB is a dark comedy about identity, spirituality, friendship, and learning to trust your gut.

Set against the backdrop of the Arbaeen pilgrimage in Iraq, the play follows Ayan as she walks from Najaf to Karbala in the scorching summer heat, navigating grief, faith, doubt, and the beautiful chaos of unexpected friendships with five other women.

If you’ve ever questioned where you belong, what you believe, or whether you’re making the right choices, MOKEB might just offer you some comfort. Mostly through laughter. 🙃

Today is monumental with the opening of the #obamapresidentialcenter. Listening to @obeygiant speak about the campaign in 2008 when the 44th was just a Hope and now we are honoring his legacy…it is a reminder of what hope can do and that we are still on the long march to unity.

Our inaugural SPILL Short Film Fest is streaming LIVE May 2-3, meet the esteemed industry experts that will help bring our jury to life! Completing our list is @amatus23 ✨

Amatus Ali moves through performance, sound, and cinema with a fluency that very few artists possess. As a multihyphenate actress, sound artist, and filmmaker, she brings a sensory depth and holistic intentionality to her work that transcends genre.

For a festival designed to spotlight bold storytelling that exists outside the traditional system, her perspective as someone who has always operated with full creative independence makes her one of the most essential voices on this jury.

Submissions are open until Friday, April 17 at filmfest.spill.com & join us to watch LIVE on SPILL May 2-3 📲 spill.com/download
