Black liberation requires more than conversation, it requires resources, investment, and a commitment to putting power directly into the hands of our communities. ✊🏾

I was proud to sit as a Judge for the 2026 Black Liberation Grant Pitch, where we celebrated bold leaders and community-driven ideas working to create real, lasting change.

This year’s winners collectively received more than $8,000 in grant funding to advance work rooted in justice, opportunity, healing, and liberation.

Every presenter reminded us that our communities already have the vision, talent, and solutions. Our responsibility is to make sure they have the resources to build.

Congratulations to each of this year’s grant recipients and presenters. It was an honor to share the space with you and to witness what is possible when we intentionally invest in Black leadership like:

Family Achieving Success Together (F.A.S.T.)
Ron Da Barber Inc. ( @ron_da_barber_inc )
Linked Family Services ( @linked_family )
Theater In The X ( @theatreinthex )
DiasporaDNA Story Center ( @diasporadnactr )
Special Shoutout to @amayamhoward for all your work in putting this joint together.

Fund the work. Trust the community. Build the future.

I spent ten days in DC.

I didn’t know it was possible to give and receive so much love in ten days. It’s impossible to fit it in 10 photos, but these are the ones filled with the most joy. 📸 💗🎉
