Detroit Music Scene - as this platform I started in March has been evolving an almost constant has been there. These two wonderful people who I align with so incredibly well. You’ve seen them before in some of my posts, but I wanted to dedicate this one specifically to Courtney the face behind @detroitmusiccollab and Chris of @catchandplaysongs These two beautiful souls have been my rocks so far. We all believe in collaboration over competition. Chris is passionate about uplifting artists and helping them with marketing and branding amongst other things and is always inspiring me to think about what is the next level and offering guidance on how to get there. When we first started talking and he asked me “what are your core values” I knew he was the kind of friend I wanted in my corner. Integrity and core values are super important to me and to find someone who aligns right off the bat is a beautiful thing this day and age. He introduced me to @michiganmusicalliance an amazing organization all about uplifting musicians from all aspects of the industry. Courtney is so incredibly kind and passionate about community programming that brings musicians together in a healing way. She has so many exciting things planned I don’t even know where to start nor is it my place to spill the beans on all the surprises. So far there have been some fantastic 90s jam sessions, folk sessions, and she has been in the works of an exciting Global Grooves programming with an emphasis on non Westernized, music of multi-cultural significance and inclusivity. Both of these two beautiful souls are not only a wealth of knowledge in business and been super helpful, but they are my friends and I just want to express so much gratitude for how much they’ve come to mean to me.. to be able to trust and bounce ideas off someone with true collaboration over competition is a beautiful thing. If you ever get a chance to work with either of them.. you are in great hands. They have such big hearts. Go show some love. 🩵🫶🏼🤍
