It takes a village. It always has.

From the very beginning, the foundation was skin. Real preparation. A full week out, the team at @glossandglownailandbeautybar set the tone with lymphatic drainage for face and body, followed by mani/pedi for hands and feet. Because before the lights, before the lens… there is care 💅

Then came the language of clothing @angaliaapparel stepped in with Afro-luxury pieces that held their own—powerfully, unapologetically—against the historic walls of @castle_of_goodhope who opened their doors with such grace and unending hospitality.

Behind the lens, @erlombard —our second cover together—once again pulled something out of me I didn’t know was ready to be seen. That’s a gift.

In the chair, @amberleealexander , who has curated a couple of iconic characters in my acting career did the things again! A quiet force. A rising name. Remember it🔥

Captured in motion by @athalia_klein , who understood that the in-between moments carry just as much truth as the final frame.

Die Toring starts tonight on @kyknettv at 9pm!

What an incredible journey! 9 whole months working with the BEST people.

(2) Honestly had the best time on set behind the scenes.

Began editing this video today and I’m posting it.
For me.
For the part of my mind that’s wrestling with the fact that I used to shared things here for me and for you, and the part that’s being pulled into the negative side effects of social media performative ideals.
We take videos and pictures, some we share and some we don’t. That’s how it should be. Grow that gallery of memories that you can look back to. But two things can be true at once.

The other is, share the thing. Whether polished or not. What should grow, will.

I’m tired out of my mind. But by the mercy of a King, I am walking strong. I get to wake up and do what I dreamt of since I was a child.

We take these videos for a reason. Again, whether to use for social media or not. So I enjoyed editing this, I did it for me. I did it for my brain to create in a different medium.
