✨ 𝐻𝑒𝓁𝓁𝑜! ✨

I bet you’re wondering who we are, what we do, and how you can join us so let’s put you on.

📚 𝕎𝕙𝕠: We are black women in the Oklahoma City Metro who love to curl up with a good book.
📚 𝕎𝕙𝕒𝕥: We are bookclub that creates a space for black women to be the main character.
📚 𝕎𝕙𝕖𝕟: We know your life is busy. We meet one Saturday a month with in person and virtual accommodations.
📚 𝕎𝕙𝕖𝕣𝕖: We currently meet at @spiked.coffeeokc , a black-woman owned spiked coffee bar! They have everything from Espresso Martinis to Coffee Flights 😋
📚 𝕎𝕙𝕪: We as black women tend to be hustling and grinding so often that we forget to slow down and nurture ourselves. Black and Booked Up is a space where we get to slow down and connect with women who we can relate to over books, coffee and life.
📚 ℍ𝕠𝕨: Want to get booked up with us? Click the link in our bio and complete our quick registration form or simply DM us “I want to get booked up!”

The end of the year is near and it’s my favorite time to do some self-reflection and recap my reflection selfies.
2022 has been the year of planning. Full truth, while everyone was making plans for their lives I wasn’t planning to be alive.
I think living in survival mode for so long it’s impossible to believe that a better future is coming.
I don’t know when it clicked exactly but I’m grateful that I had a mindset switch. This year I’ve had several wins and just as many losses but a few things I’m celebrating are:
Balancing school full-time and working full-time.
Maintaining a small business.
Starting the bookclub.
Prioritizing my self growth.
Landing the “internship/side hustle” I manifested at the beginning of the year.

The best thing I learned this year was that despite doing all these things my worth is not rooted in what I produce. I had many slow days too where I slept, spent time with loved ones, traveled solo, taught myself how to skate and got my hands dirty with pottery.

2023 will be my year of building, what are you focusing on for the new year?

Book club this week was 80% therapy, 20% book talk. I love the chance to be apart of Black and Booked Up.

Thank you @spiked.coffeeokc for hosting us and having the best coffee menu in the city! ☕️ 🍸
Big shout out to @eastsidepizzahouse for the good food and good vibes afterwards. 🍕
