POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Barclay Lake has been calling for several years. In 2020, I got the idea for a backpacking trip and visited the lake for the first time. In 2021, I led a group on a day hike to the lake. Simpler. Manageable. Just as enjoyable.

This year, all the pieces lined up to try the overnight idea. This weekend, curated with intention, held more than any of us expected going in. Five of us gathered — some seasoned, some new — and we did something hard together.

We climbed rocks like we were kids again. We whisper-sang show tunes under a sky full of shooting stars. We cried on the trail and laughed until our stomachs hurt. We managed our anxieties, our expectations, our bodies, our bear canisters (ask any of us about that one 😅) — and we managed them together.

What we’re carrying home: tired muscles, full hearts, a renewed hope for deeper connection — to the earth, to ourselves, to each other. And a reminder that we can be ourselves in any setting, and still be welcomed.

I’m grateful to the people who said yes to this adventure, trusted the process, trusted each other, and trusted the forest.

Learning experiences really are the best. Especially the ones that take place outdoors. 💚✨

One love. One Earth. One heart.

What an amazing experience it has been to perform alongside some of the best people to ever exist!

Not only did we SELL OUT all 4 concerts of Happy Dolly Days, but I was able to connect with in so many different ways with so many new individuals. I can’t forget to include that we sang Old Town Road… which was awesome.

It took me lots of hours to rhinestone my pants and my shirt. Also hand sewed a bow for my hair. Plus all the makeup and lashes. Worth it!

All that to say I had a busy but good weekend. If you want to see the concert, it can be streamed online in December! 🐴🩷
