The subconscious impact of type with @AmberWeav_ Amber Weaver, the founder of @Type01_ (a type-led creative media platform as well as font market Type Department and type magazine Typeone) joined us on stage at London’s Nicer Tuesdays to take us the through the Type01 universe, from its feminist origins and creation of the magazine, to the platform’s original typefaces. She also touched on an interesting question: How does contemporary type design translate into the wider world? #NicerTuesdays #ItsNiceThat

TYPEONE Magazine - Editorial & Direction TYPEONE Magazine is the annual printed graphic design magazine of our parent media company @type01_ 🫶 Conceptualised by our Director @amberweav_ back in 2020, mid COVID pandemic, the magazine has grown to be a leading voice in the graphic design and typography space, offering insightful and practical editorial content that resonate with designers, creatives, and industry professionals. Working with the incredibly talented Studio Ground Floor on the design and art direction (still to this day), the key role that we played was leading 80% of the issues editorials, and editorial direction. Our role is to keep each issue conceptually sound from one issue to the next, which has been integral, not just to the product, but the brand itself, ensuring cohesion and consistency as the project grew. “The collaborative synergy between myself and Studio Ground Floor has been incredibly fun and engaging as we tackled, with every issue, how to integrate the editorial content and design, allowing for a cohesive and impactful reader experience.” — Amber Weaver #t01s #type01studio

With Tina Božan (@rawrawletters)we are cooking up something really fun at the @alt__tf HQ One of Alt’s milestones for the year was offering our first ever internship. When @amberweav_ and I talked about how to structure this we wanted to make it really fun, valuable, intensive and as close to real life workflow as possible, as we both recognised the need for hands on experience when approaching working for a foundry or running one yourself. We are sooo close and its been a real struggle to keep it all hush hush as the typeface we’re developing with Tina is so nice and will be a real fresh addition to the Alt catalogue 👀 As a self taught designer with a raging imposter syndrome, this has been a huge learning and training opportunity for myself as well, and we look forward to showing you what we’re working on, it’s really fun! #typedesign #typefesigner #slabserif #typeface
