From nervous start line energy to crossing the finish line with a huge smile… what a day. 🫶🔥

Yesterday I completed my second Urban Race @by_athena_events (and my 8th hybrid race!) in 31°C heat at Battersea Park Athletics Track. It definitely wasn’t the day to chase a PB, so I listened to my body, managed my pace, and kept putting one foot in front of the other. Sometimes finishing is the biggest win, and this is something I encourage my clients and community on a daily basis.

What made this event so special wasn’t just the racing, it was the people.

Everywhere I looked there were women cheering, racing and supporting one another. There were men and kids there aswell, so a fantastic community vibe, but women took centre stage! So many of the people I spoke to were taking on their very first hybrid event, including loads from my run club, and that was incredible to see.

And the numbers back it up:
✨ 558 female athletes raced.
✨ Women made up 60% of all competitors.
✨ Over 2,100 people came together for this event - their second event, first of which was in Peckham and had 70 people attend!

That’s what I love about The Urban Race @by_athena_events . It feels more accessible, more inclusive, and like a genuine entry point into hybrid racing. Whether you’re chasing a podium or simply proving to yourself that you can do hard things, there’s space for everyone.

Shoutout to the sponsors @hollandandbarrett @tenzing @ancientandbrave and founders @thesoberfitnesscoach @kknowles23turbo

Here’s to more women on start lines, more first-timers discovering what they’re capable of, and more events that make fitness feel welcoming. AD Invite

Or if any of our amazing followers would like to volunteer tomorrow we’ve got goodies, merch, lunch on us and more. DM if you’re interested in supporting at Battersea Park. These events wouldn’t happen without you, and we don’t take that for granted 🖤 #theurbanrace #byathena #hybridfitness

I DID IT!🏋🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️🥇

Second Womens Single Urban Race @by_athena_events ✅
8th hybrid race ✅
31°C at Battersea Park ☀️🥵

I’m so proud of myself for showing up today. It was HOT, so this wasn’t the day to chase a PB. I slowed the pace down, took it one foot in front of the other, and got it done. Sometimes that’s exactly what your body needs.

One of the things I love most about the @by_athena_events is how accessible and inclusive it is. Compared to other hybrid events, it feels like such a welcoming space AND seeing 60% of participants being women was incredible. 🙌

So many people I spoke to were taking on their very first hybrid race, including loads from my run club. That makes me so happy because this is exactly how we grow the sport, making it feel achievable, fun and for everyone. AD

Here’s to more women giving hybrid racing a go, more first-timers, and many more finish lines. 💜

WOW. WELLNERGY…

Our first time taking WELLF out into the world, and nearly a week on, we’re still feeling the love. 🥹

Thank you to every single person who came over to stand 51, tried our sweets, took part in a challenge, asked questions, shared kind words, or backed what we’re building.

Seeing your faces when you realised creatine could taste this good was unforgettable… but the best part was meeting so many of you and welcoming you into the WELLF community.

WELLF is for the everyday athlete. 🧬

The ones doing it all… working hard, training hard, and living hard.

That’s who we’re here for. 🫶🏼

To everyone who supported us, cheered us on, and became a friend of WELLF - thank you. We’re eternally grateful to have you with us at the start of this journey.

This is just the beginning. 👀

Same time next year @wellnergy ??
