Somebody somewhere at some point said something about not waiting to tell people you love them, so we’re gonna come right out and say it: We Love @nealsantos ❣️❣️❣️

He has spent more than a decade capturing the people, places, and food that make Philly’s hospitality scene (and beyond) so special. We’re very lucky to have his big smile and genuine spirit around often, his creative eye behind so much of what we do, and we’re even luckier to call him a friend❤️‍🔥📸

a $350 tasting menu at @ambraphilly in Philly and genuinely one of the best meals we’ve ever had. we sat in the kitchen, got to watch everything come together, and loved every second of it. definitely a splurge, but such an unforgettable way to celebrate my 30th 🤍

The questions I get asked on repeat about living in Philadelphia.

Comment LOCAL and I’ll send you my Moving to Philadelphia Guide.

For example, who does all the amazing window boxes I keep seeing everywhere? Easy. @enlivenplanters. I’ve been using them at my own home for over a decade.

Or where is the best place to work out? @xforcephiladelphia if you want a brutal thirty minutes and a full day of soreness to show for it. Or @sportingclubbellevue if you want pilates, a pool, and don’t want to be rushed.

This is most of what I actually do for clients moving to Philadelphia from out of state. The listings are the easy part. Knowing who to call in Society Hill, where to eat in Queen Village, and which part of Philadelphia you actually want to be in is what takes years to learn.

If you’re moving to Philadelphia, I put all of it in one place.

Comment LOCAL and I’ll send you my Moving to Philadelphia Guide.

A History of Bainbridge Street:

Bainbridge Street in South Philadelphia is one of those roads that tells the whole story if you know how to look. It started as Shippen Street in the 1760s, then took the name of Commodore William Bainbridge in the 1890s, honoring the naval hero who died here in 1833. Between 3rd and 5th, you’re walking through old Washington Market—now Bainbridge Green with that 1901 fountain saying “Drink Gentle Friends.” At 1006 Bainbridge, abolitionist Frances Ellen Watkins Harper lived from 1871 to 1911, her house now a National Historic Landmark with a marker outside. At 915 Bainbridge, the building that opened in 1866 as the Institute for Colored Youth (America’s oldest HBCU) later became the Randall School and still stands today. At 8th and Bainbridge, Church of the Crucifixion (founded 1847, building from 1884) counted Marian Anderson in its choir and W.E.B. Du Bois as a member. At 12th and Bainbridge, New Hope Temple Baptist Church has anchored the neighborhood since 1936. Near 2nd and 4th, Bainbridge was part of bustling Jewish South Philadelphia with pushcart markets drawing customers from across the city. At the west end, where Bainbridge meets Grays Ferry, the U.S. Naval Asylum stood from 1826 to 1976, its walls isolating the block for over a century before finally coming down in 2023. From Underground Railroad footsteps to market stalls, schools, churches, and rowhouse life, Bainbridge is pure South Philly—layered, lived-in, and still carrying the memory of every block and every neighbor who’s walked these streets. If you want the real history of South Philadelphia, you come to Bainbridge.

Send this to someone from Bainbridge Street!

Three of Philadelphia’s first Michelin-recognized restaurants are within a block of this front door. A James Beard-winning sushi chef is four minutes the other way. Meredith — the highest-ranked elementary school in the Philadelphia school district — is close enough to walk to on a coffee break. That’s Monroe Street in Queen Village. A quiet, tree-lined side street where the original brick facades and ornate cornices do the talking.

Inside, the layout actually makes sense. Living room anchored by a fireplace. Eat-in kitchen that opens straight onto a private patio. Upstairs, each bedroom gets its own floor and its own bath — not a shared hall bath split between two rooms. Second floor bedroom has generous closet space. Third floor primary adds its own fireplace, and the open stairwell pulls light all the way down from the top floor. Below it all, a finished basement adds the flex space every rowhouse buyer wishes they had. A home office on Monday, a lounge for Friday movie night, a guest room, whatever you need it to be.

HVAC fully replaced in 2024. Water heater 2021. Basement waterproofed 2018. Fresh paint throughout.

Outside: Fabric Row runs the length of the block on 4th Street — the country’s oldest fabric district. Vintage at Moore Vintage Archive and Wayward Collection. Dinner at Ambra or Southwark. Coffee at Ace Outpost.
📍 330 Monroe St, Queen Village, Philadelphia PA 19147
🛏 2 bed · 2 full bath · finished basement
🔥 Two fireplaces · private patio
📐 1,080 sq ft
🏫 Meredith catchment
💰 $485,000

Open house Saturday 6/27, 11a–1p. Link in bio for the full listing. Some photos are virtually staged.

An absolutely wonderful evening at Ambra (a hidden gem in Southwark) sitting at the chef’s table. Fun fact: Forrest was the youngest person to be served at the special chef’s table in 598 seatings. He loved it as did we. The dedication to food and wine sourcing was evident and seeing the craft up close was inspiring. Thank you chef Chris and your team for a wonderful experience. Everyone including our little foodie was left so happy.
