New art straight from Cuba! Fabian Lopez, aka 2+2=5? (@ttttteoe), has partnered with us to share more of his fantastic work.

Artist Statement: “29 year old Fabian Lopez is an internationally acclaimed street artist from Havana, Cuba. Often dubbed “The Banksy of Havana”, Fabian expresses thoughts on socio-political issues mixed with the daily struggles of life thru his balaclava clad character, Supermalo.
His signature, “2+2=5?” means that something is wrong with the world but we choose to ignore it. The equation begs one to think on many different levels...to second guess things. Maybe 2+2+5?
Maybe it doesn’t. Lopez’s art begs for you to question reality.”

Always a favorite corner in Centro Havana. 2+2=5 is the equation that pretty much explains life in Cuba. It shouldn’t be that complicated but it does not add up. This wall has remained un changed for a few years, the addition of the sofa was a bonus for sure. We’ll be spending some time with the artist next week and look forward to learning more about Fabian.

HAVANA PHOTOGRAPHY TOUR:
FEBRUARY 19-25 All inclusive week on the streets in Havana.

Connecting with local artists and community will be the back bone of this week. Fabian is famous for is graffiti through out Havana and his 2+2=5 tag. @handsonhavana We will spend an afternoon on the streets with him as he introduces us to his Havana and his art.

There is so much more to Havana than Classic cars and Cigars. Young entrepreneurs, yogi’s, chefs, clothing designers, biologists, and of course photographers. As we walk the streets and find our rhythm in this historical city you will encounter and begin to understand so many different facets of this complicated and troubled Country. And of course there are always cars, cigars, and mojitos ! Link in bio with all details and registration.

Scenes from an underwater festival.

This is my 4th year on the festival circuit, and every year gets better and better. This one is where I started. So it’s fitting that it’s the best one.

So many great memories from this weekend. @heydude stopped by to check on our feet, @cornbreadcowboi tore up a burger before arm wrestling the entire festival audience. The rain was never ending, but we got lucky with the high ground, and watched other vendors slop a foot deep in mud for 3 days. There was some sort of crab pretzel thing.., the soundtrack to the weekend was top notch, the beef trailer podcast was born, the end of an era for a fellow food trucker, everyone of my staff, they were awesome! And we finally found Carl.

I’m in a place in my life where I’m happy, and these memories are the reason why. When my wife told me to give this a try 5 years ago, I had no idea one little burger would take me so far….thanks to all of yall for allowing this journey to continue!
