COME FROM AWAY ✈️ @umichmusicaltheatre

This show has touched my heart in so many ways. Getting to share this story every night has reminded me just how much humanity and connection matter. I’ve learned so much from Bonnie, this story, and the incredible people I’ve gotten to share it with. A big piece of my heart will always be “where the river meets the sea.” ✈️🐒🐟⭐️🪨

Alumni Spotlight! 🎭

Meet Alejandro Medina, one of our longtime performers who is living out his dreams after graduation.

Alejandro has been an Ovation student since the very beginning (see the last slide for a major throwback!) and has poured his time, energy, and passion into the program. Over the years, that dedication helped him grow in so many ways.

Today, he’s studying at the University of Michigan, earning a BFA in Musical Theatre. This summer, he joined @theatreaspenco summer stock program, where he took on amazing roles, including Mark in A Chorus Line.

When we caught up with Alejandro, he told us that Ovation taught him the hard work and professionalism that got him where he is today. He shared that Ovation showed him how to step up to the plate and adapt to any situation.

At Ovation, Alejandro was one of those kids you couldn’t take your eyes off of. Whether he was in the ensemble or leading a show, he treated every role and opportunity with care and pride. We are so proud of you, Alejandro! 👏

Alumni Spotlight from Alejandro! 🎶✨

This summer, Alejandro made his Theatre Aspen debut in professional productions of Grease and A Chorus Line. 🩰🏁

The Aspen Times praised Alejandro’s spectacular performance in Grease, drawing attention to his strong vocal performance: “Alejandro Medina delivers standout vocals as Doody, making ‘Those Magic Changes’ one of the evening’s musical highlights”.

Alejandro also received praise for his role in A Chorus Line with The Aspen Times declaring: “It is difficult to only call out a few of the performances with such a stacked cast. A few of the many worth mentioning begins with Alejandro Medina bringing a frenetic sincerity to Mark.”

Alejandro performed alongside Broadway professionals and an incredible cast of singers and dancers in both Grease and A Chorus Line and his performance stood out in every show. We’re so proud of Alejandro’s hard work and are thrilled that he made such a brilliant debut at one of the most prestigious theaters in the country.

Congratulations, Alejandro! 🌟💙
