**Sound On**

Rachel and I had the chance to see Amelia in her element. 👯‍♀️

Her heart has always belonged to creating. Before design, it was music. Design became another beautiful outlet for that same creative spirit.

Art has played a similar role in my own life, so it meant a lot to watch her doing what she loves, just as she’s watched me do the same.

The costumes were beautiful, the stage presence was incredible, and you could genuinely feel how much everyone loved being there.

Wishing Vinyl Siren all the best on their journey. 💯

along my journey, there have been people who play roles that aren’t always public facing

you may not have seen them at my show
or seen us communicating online
or even seen us in photos together

but their impact in my story has been huge!

if you’ve ever supported in any way—

coming to an event
reposting
buying art
sending helpful information
sharing tools & resources
telling a friend
thinking of me whenever there’s a creative need

I appreciate all of you always!

they say your net worth and your network are often synonymous

who I know often dictates what I know, where I go and how I get there

for all of the love, near or far, you know who you are beyond this post

this is for you

thank you 😊

Our final stop on the KOWBOY KARISMA #birthday tour was a #cowboycarter #themed dinner party and my folks showed up and showed out! We had a time and finished the night with a Boots on the Ground fashion show lol! So grateful for life and the immense love I have around me. Shout out to everyone who helped me celebrate my #birthday. Another wonderful K-day this year! #grateful #blessed

Pa’Lante tells the story of an #afrolatina family of #matriarchs who are all trying to stay on track, literally and figuratively. Written and directed by #afro-panamanian artist/entrepreneur @iamkarismajay, Pa’Lante is a love letter to #panama and the quintessential mother-daughter dynamic. Just in time for #mothersday Saturday May 10 from 2pm-6pm, we will celebrate the film with a community vendor marketplace and feature afrolatino musical artists @johnpolanco_ and @aleclarke. Early bird tickets are on sale now https://palantethefilm.eventbrite.com

A picture is worth a thousand words and these select #behindthescenes pictures shot by @roseesutton #onset of @palantethefilm capture the very essence of the process. Every single person involved (cast and crew) gave their all to make this dream a #film! PS: we just got word that Pa’Lante was accepted into not One but Two #filmfestivals so far! Woo-hoo! So….are you coming to our exclusive community premiere on Sat May 10 from 2pm-6pm at Crown Hill Theatre in Bklyn?!? Get your tickets asap at https://palantethefilm.eventbrite.com

POV: you support other creative friends in their endeavors

because you genuinely love what they do

AND you genuinely love what YOU do so you don’t see others as a threat

CONGRATS! @cintiadixon

If you’re anything like me, tackling tasks can sometimes feel like an uphill battle.

One of the ways I get things done is by scheduling my tasks around a reward. In this case, it was the chance to do yoga with @amelia_dawn by way of my @shefiorg family.

If you don’t know SheFi, get into it! I received a grant earlier this summer to spend 8-weeks learning all things blockchain. I’m behind on class because…life 😅 but it’s so simple to understand. I know I’ll be a master in no time once I go over the course on my own.

Maggie puts on the best events by the way! This one was a yoga session ending in açaí bowls by @playabowls which were amazing 🤩

anyway, go be productive and have fun while doing it! 😜

@amelia_dawn and I had a fancy fun lunch together

we got to spend some time with @matthew.awesome.23 who has been such a huge supporter since we met during #nytechweek and is a neuroscience extraordinaire!

we met a wonderful man who gave us chocolate covered orange slices 😊

turns out he’s a former interior designer who shops at Bergdorf often and wants to catch our exhibit before it ends [we met him after the store closed]

it was just a lovely day

we will be back this week for an invite-only event for designers in the trade
