Sooo hungry… for yarn and fabric scraps 🤤

In the last maker-led workshop of 2026, join Megan King of @pathworkstudiodc & Topaz M. Terry of @amendadaptdc for EcoMonsters: Scrap Fabric Stuffies.

During the workshop, you’ll use yarn, fabric scraps, and fun notions saved from the trash to create a one-of-a-kind monster that makes a great gift for the young and young at heart. Explore creative ways to give materials normally destined for the landfill a new life while learning simple sewing techniques and trying out a hand-crank sewing machine.

🗓️ Friday, November 13
🕐 6-8pm
🎟️ $45-50 ($40 for members)

For the last 3 months, @melanielovesdc @jennifer_beall and I have been working on something special, and tonight is the culmination of all that work. Please join us tonight, if you are able, at @communityforklift ‘s Circular Showcase Celebration. Numerous local artists and artisans accepted the challenge to transform used and broken materials into something beautiful. Finished submissions will be judged for prizes, then auctioned off to support CF’s programs. We are so grateful to be a part of this inaugural event! #madeindc #upcycleforthewin #amendandadapt

An ordinary porch…until the Goodwill-found, thrifted treasures came alive! DIY creations, handmade finds & a little Tim Kime Art imagination turned my front porch into a Halloween haunt. Meet Frankie and his bride, follow the ghosts and watch for a spooky spin at nighttime! Which decoration is your frightening favorite? #thrifting #diy #halloween #transylvaniatuesday

What a joy to create a one-of-a-kind art piece-collage in honor of Dr. Cheryl Lee’s retirement. This dentist has done so much for others & the @brooklandcivic wanted to show its gratitude. A Goodwill-found mat/frame was paired with cards from my Mom Barb along with clippings for old magazines and calendars highlighting Dr. Cheryl Lee’s service to the Greater Brookland community & beyond. Many good wishes on her next adventure! @findingyourgood #diy #reuse #thrifting #transformationtuesday #upcycle

I went to Goodwill looking for possibilities… And apparently came home with coffee tables. A tall green vessel. A giant gold pot. My great grandmother‘s old mirror. A suitcase table I already loved. Pieces collected from here, there and everywhere! Sometimes the best design question isn’t “what is this?” But “what could this be?” And that’s where the fun begins! #diy #thrifting #upcycle #repurposing
