My whole life has been filled with nos. “No”, there’s no more treatment options for your mom. “No”, your dad won’t be there to watch you graduate. “No” your parents won’t get better. This week I got to tell a family yes.

Yesterday morning, the right lobe of my liver was surgically removed and put inside a stranger, which is a really crazy thing to type if you think about it. Throughout this whole process I kept saying that my recipient is “somebody’s someone”. Somebody’s friend, somebody’s child, somebody’s sibling. I had the honor of a lifetime to give them more days with their someone. I hope they cherish them.

I went into surgery with overwhelming peace knowing that so many liver patients that I love were watching out for me. My dad, Sydney, Jonah, Cynthia, Belinda, and so many more.

In the US alone, over 9,000 people are waiting for a liver. Today, there’s one less. I hope you’ll join me in sending all of the good, healing energy to my recipient. If anyone needs me, I’ll be here!
