When we talk about community being essential in tea practice, we're not just talking about being with other people.

The community of tea might better be described as "communion" -- a profound connection. Oneness.

In brewing tea, we receive this gift of the Earth and all the people who brought it to us. In drinking tea, we literally become one with the plant, the sunlight, the rain. In serving tea, we are a channel connecting this medicine with another.

It is a delight to share tea with others, but we are already all linked in this practice. In a time of profound disconnection, we are grateful to share this ritual with you.

I come to you today with an overflowing heart of gratitude and extended open arms of welcome. With permission and blessing from the spirits of the land I cohabitate with, and in powerfully aligned collaboration with a dear sister and teacher @ami.opal — we are gathering a very intimate group of souls to deepen in the art and ceremonial practice of Craniosacral this autumn here at my home in Dripping Springs, Tejas.

“Craniosacral work combines sensitive hands-on bodywork with meditative use of the inner eye and the inner ear. Techniques are drawn from three principal traditions: osteopathy, energy work, and Taoism. Our practices today welcome in your unique vision and your unique spirituality, as we take seat with another in the great unfolding of being. This past weekend I was given the honor and divine responsibility of hosting an intimate group of students and our teacher @ami.opal for a three day ceremonial introduction to Craniosacral.

It was my first time hosting a gathering of this nature in my home on these lands while also bringing my empty cup to receive as a student — an initiation for sure.

I’m definitely still digesting the richness of the experience as this work is certainly more than a just healing modality — to me, it is a way of making contact with Life that goes so far into (and yet beyond) the human experience.

Like all healing modalities, ways and traditions that are rooted in truth, the teachings we can receive through the practice are also life lessons — in this case, through the pathways of awareness that Craniosacral offers, I am remembering how to touch (the bones, the waters, the spirit…) from a place of divine neutrality that lives within me and in all, filled with faith in the innate harmonic tendencies (desires?) of life.

In this moment, I’m relishing in the awe of this incredibly dynamic life, the profound support that is here in every breath and the treasures that lie hidden within every wound we are carrying.

Through presence and divine witness, we re-member.

I look forward to integrating these lessons and rememberings into the hands-on healing work that has been in the wings patiently waiting to emerge for many years.

I think my favorite new thing in life is witnessing people connect with this land. They all say the same thing: The picture don’t do it justice…and it’s true. There’s just a deeply peaceful feeling here that’s hard to describe. ✨

Current highlights include the ripening plumbs that you can pick *while* showering in our outside shower, the prettiest dragonflies who dance around during peach sunsets, warm evening breezes, and more shooting stars than I’ve ever seen, ever. 🌌

If you’d like to join me for the only retreat I’m hosting here this year, there are still a few spots open, Sept 7-11. Also, if you live nearby or prefer to stay at a hotel or Airbnb, I just added a few Commuter spots at a lower price point.

This is going to be a very special and intimate gathering and possibly the last of it's kind (I'm scheming on some new things overh here 🙇🏻‍♀️). In addition to all the painting, I have an incredible line up of guest teachers sharing things like sound baths, vocal play workshops, nourishing movement sessions, and guided journeys. There will also plenty of time to star gaze, feast on candle-lit farm-to-table dinners, connect around the campfire, and just BE on this beautiful land with sweet people.

When I was deep in my dance life and fully immersed in daily training, I sought many different modalities for recovery and care. The two most supportive modalities I engaged in were Rolfing and Craniosacral. Rolfing helped me to unstick the unhelpful movement patterns and scar tissue in my fascia, but the Craniosacral work is what helped me to integrate those new patterns and establish a healthy baseline for my nervous system. I would leave a cranio session feeling so light in my heart and grounded in my body — and the feeling always lingered. It felt to me like coming home to my authentic self.

I have always had an affinity towards healing touch — I used to give massages to my dance friends regularly and learned A TON about the human anatomy through my dance education. I also served my community in SF with Reiki for almost a decade.

I stopped offering Reiki for my own personal reasons and kept walking the healing path — always keeping in heart my deep love for healing touch.

So when the idea sparked to reach out to @ami.opal to see if she might be willing to share her wisdom and knowledge with us in Texas, you can imagine I was extremely excited when she said yes!

It’s been a long time coming, and I am grateful to be able to host Ami and those of you who feel called (as I do) to learn how to listen to The Song of Our Bones.

I will be hosting the gathering in my home, serving tea ceremony in the mornings and providing lunch.

For the first time, I’m stepping in to teaching !

Introducing — The Breath of Life : Fundamentals of Craniosacral Biodynamics

A Training in Touch. A Training in Healing. A Training in Being.

With great honor, I’ve been asked by one of my teachers to create a course of my own at his 30+ year old Craniosacral Academy. This will be an intimate, immersive introduction to the type of healing I practice and have been most passionate about for the last 12 years. It will be a synthesis of my studies under four master teachers, as well as a sharing from the revelations and understandings I’ve gleaned from navigating my own deep healing journey.

Over four days, we will gather together at a beautiful retreat center in northern New Mexico (with accommodations onsite). No prerequisite is required. This course is appropriate for those who wish to broaden their skillset and clinical offerings, for newcomers to body and energy work, and for those who are in search of self-healing and development.

✨21 days ago I crossed a threshold, bringing an ending sew complete, that it is absolutely impossible to return to what has been. I have entered a portal that has been excruciatingly painful while simultaneously being exquisitely beautiful and holy. I am not the same person I was three weeks ago and I can’t even begin to hold the vision for what is next.

Circle Couture, this public entity that provides a platform and portfolio for my creative soul, is being rebirthed. Circle, for me, has always spoken to connectedness, wholeness, a way of honoring my lineage that has planted the seeds to help me cultivate the skill set and gifts I am here to share in this lifetime. It is gratitude and love that are helping me realign with this creative life force that connects us all. This grief, this immense loss, has brought me into presence in a way I’ve never known. Life~ death~ full circle.

One of the things I’ve learned during this very tender time is that there is really no room for grief in our fast paced world. When someone you love sew deeply dies, your world completely stops, and you wonder how it is possible that everything around you just keeps going. The amount of projects that are supposed to be flowing through me is immense and it has been extremely challenging to feel creative while deeply grieving. Thank you, thank you, thank you to all the beautiful Beings that I am honored to co~create with that have been sew supportive in helping me have the spaciousness to be right where I need to be in this process. And for the friends that continue to lean in and hold me, reminding me that in the depths of grief, there is joy. My broken open heart is sew full. My capacity to love is expanding exponentially, beyond form.

Life, death, transformation. We are all connected in the circle of life. Here’s to keeping it real. In reverence, gratitude and love 🙏🏽

I miss you Chris Smaka, with every fiber of my Being. May we continue to rise in love~

A little share here about an upcoming training. I’ll be teaching a listening and rebalancing technique within the female pelvis, the portal. This gentle technique is one I have been developing and refining for over a decade. It’s an alchemy of work rooted in cranialsacral, myofascial release, Rolfing, and shamanic healing. I am honored to teach this work, it’s been quietly expanding these past few years, and it feels like time to share it.
