Meet Samora she came in for a silk press and left with a summertime fine bob 🫧x✂️🤍

Project details: Samora came in from taking down a set of knotless braids. Since Samora is color treated I acknowledged the fact that she was experiencing some dryness and possible breakage. I suggested that we use @olaplex kit that is designed to add protein and moisture/ repair broken bonds in the hair. During the straightening process I could tell her ends were shaggy and brittle, I asked her when was the last time she’s had a trim… and she said “about a month ago”. I suggested that she should get a trim today to keep her hair healthy and growing. She said that a trim would be fine, shortly after she asked if I could do a bob. That is just what we did.. her fringe area is significantly shorter than her one length so I gave her a face framed cut and a bump for body. 🥂

I also let Samora know that she would be the perfect candidate for Tape’N extensions 🤍

Giving back to the community can be so fulfilling and heartfelt ❤️ It truly is one of the best ways to create happiness and be an inspiration! It was amazing being apart of something so selfless and humane, so FULL CIRCLE ⭕️!

Just 9 years ago I was in the same situation, facing homelessness with a newborn baby and very little resources. I was tired of sleeping on couches and air mattress and blowing threw my savings, feeling completely useless. @ourhousega helped me build the foundation that allows me to feed my son and pay my bills today. They created a system that rendered me independence to go out and handle my business without worrying about where I was going to sleep or who was going to take care of my baby. I felt HOPE! Spirit was the name of my room and that’s exactly what they gave me so it felt good to go back and be an inspiration to some of the homeless families in our community today.

It can happen to anybody. But my advice to them was “Stay humble. Because when you’re at rock bottom, up is the only way you can go!”

Where do great hairstylist come from ? Who inspires the next generation of professionals and who LEADS them ? As someone who always was hungry for more information, more education and ways to grow I strongly believe that EVERYONE needs a mentor in this industry. We are a lot stronger as a community when we live to inspire each other and not compete with each other. So many things that I’ve learned from different salon experiences and hair stylists coming up ! What TO DO AND WHAT NOT TO DO ! My most valuable experiences thus far have been with @meghann_monroe and @darius_boone working next to them side by side ! (It’s funny they both Aquarius’) but they have both shown me both BEAUTY and BUSINESS and I can honestly say still inspire me to this day in personal growth and business development!

While it’s important to always have someone to look up to, someone to inspire you, it’s also important to have someone behind you to push you forward. It’s important not to get set in your ways and be open to learn from a younger generation! I created The Associate Program as a comprehensive hands-on experience so that I could earn my right to work with who I want ! But ultimately I wanted to create a collaborative space that cultivated an environment for growth and supported by teamwork and professionalism . We did just that ! Welcome to the Z Chic Experience 💕
