The past few weeks have been an unbelievable reminder of why I love what I do.

I’ve had clients compete in HYROX, fight for championship belts, win awards and achieve things they probably once never imagined themselves doing.

As a coach, it’s pretty special to look back and think… wow. I was able to guide these people through a small part of their journey and help them get to this moment.

But what inspires me most isn’t just the medals, belts, awards or finishing times.

It’s the work nobody else sees. The early mornings, the sessions they didn’t feel like doing, the moments of doubt and the decision to keep showing up anyway.

I can provide the guidance, programming and support but they are the ones who do the work.

I am so incredibly proud of you all. You inspire me more than you probably realise 🤍

Now that the dust has settled, we just wanted to say a huge congratulations to everyone who stepped through the ropes last Friday night.

Dark South Academy had 10 athletes competing. Some were having their first fight, some had been there before, and for others it had been many years since they last stepped into the ring.

There were wins, there were losses, but most importantly there were plenty of lessons. That’s what this sport is all about.

As young coaches who are still active athletes ourselves, it’s been pretty special watching this team grow.

Ameir and I have been incredibly lucky to have a coach and mentor like @coachnudgemieli , who has helped shape us not only as athletes but also as coaches. He’s never once hesitated to answer a question, share his knowledge or help us whenever we’ve needed it. More importantly, he’s always backed us and believed in us, reminding us that we’re on the right path to developing into great coaches ourselves.

We’ve still got plenty to learn, but it’s a good feeling knowing we’re heading in the right direction.

A massive thank you to all of our athletes’ opponents, their coaches and teams for making the trip to Batemans Bay and sharing the ring with our crew. We really appreciate the effort and the opportunity for our athletes to showcase everything they’ve been working on.

To our team, we couldn’t be prouder. Every single one of you gave 100%, showed plenty of heart, and represented Dark South Academy with pride.

Now it’s back to work. We can’t wait to do it all again at the Illawarra Challenger alongside our Adapt family. 🥊❤️

Great night down in Bega last night.

A huge thank you to the team at @cut_throat_boxing for having us and putting on a great event.

Both Riley and Liam stepped into the ring for two quality exhibition bouts, and we couldn’t be prouder of the way they performed. It was great to see the hard work they’ve put in at the gym come together.

Onto the next one 🥊
