This year has been the most talks I have ever given in Spanish (over 20)!

It’s been over a year since starting In His Heart Ministries/ En Su Corazon. A huge reason why I started this ministry was to offer more resources and faith opportunities for our Hispanic community. I was getting frustrated with the lack of resources offered in Spanish in comparison to English. As someone whose first language is Spanish I felt the Lord was calling me to do something about this.

This year I have consulted with multiple parishes helping them to understand how to serve Hispanics better from planning and executing events to the promotion and marketing (this included a lot of Whatsapp tutorials 😂). I have been able to do bilingual parish missions, trainings/retreats for Hispanic ministry and Diocesan leaders, mother/daughter and father/daughter retreats with my incredible parents in Spanish (they are also speakers). This was extra special as they are the ones who first introduced me to Jesus. I also recorded a 4 part video series with @carifilms and created a free 10 page informational packet explaining the devotion of the Sacred Heart (in Spanish and English on my website).

This last one may seem silly but I have been reminded that representation matters. I sell In His Heart Merchandise in Spanish, the look and excitement I see on people’s faces when they come up to the table and see the writings in Spanish and speak to me in Spanish is priceless.

There is a lot going on in our country right now related to immigration that is not an accurate adherence to church teaching and is not a reflection of how Christ calls us to love and serve all people. Yet, in the midst of it all, I continue to see our people rise in faith, turn to the Lord, and cling to Him in incredible ways.

Even though Hispanic Heritage Month ends today (on the Feast day of St. Teresa of Avila!), I continue to celebrate our roots, culture, beauty, and faith and I’m beyond proud to be a part of it.

We are literally living a dream and can’t believe this is our real life. What a wild ride to be planning so many amazing events coming up in the next 6 weeks or so. We’ve been working with these amazing apostolates (and archdiocese!) over the last year or so and we are so grateful for the opportunity to plan their conferences, retreats and concert! Excited to make all the planning become reality… because the events themselves are the very best part!

All of these have a few tickets still available! We will put their links in our stories! We hope to see you there!

Ali Hoffman shared a powerful message about the Creed: a declaration of our faith and who we believe in. Let’s pray the Creed this week with a renewed heart, reflecting on the faith we are called to live each day.
