“The pursuit of perfection reveals our biggest flaws as nothing can ever compare to the glass cage we impose on ourselves”

Bladed, a memoir.

Last month, I had the privilege of working on this project with one of my best friends, Amy. A fashion designer at Parsons School of Design, she called me up one day and asked me if I wanted to be a part of her final thesis project, and of course I said yes! It has been such a journey but so fun, and I hope you all enjoy it as we portray the struggles and beauty of skating through imperfection and growth.

5.19.25 Bladed

We are often taught how to chase success, but rarely how to fall and get back up again. We drown ourselves in the chase for perfection and lose the beauty in failing, learning, and growing. Bladed is a collection of fashion pieces showcasing the vulnerability in the process of imperfection, where figure skating becomes our motif idealizing the perfect life in and outside of the rink. In all the pain, chipped blades, messy updos, and stumbling forward, this is where we find beauty in the grace of being human.
