Punk kid for life! 🤘 I remember one time my brother bought me a silver bead & black leather goth necklace from hot topic for Christmas. I always thought that was so nice. He was trying to understand me.

Anyway. Not a phase. 😅 Doing hair wasn’t a phase either!

This old punk kid can cut your curly hair, shag haircut, can color your balayage - and of course, I can also do your grey blending - all here in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

Hi 👋 I’m Amanda & I’m neurodivergent. I’m also a salon owner in NYC. Like - the most overstimulating industry & city.

I’ve been doing hair for 15 years, have been an advanced educator with @kevin.murphy - and I’ve worked at, visited, taught at & seen every kind of salon environment out there.

But nothing I’ve seen really fit my vibe or needs, or used the products & color I’m obsessed with.

So…I created a salon & business model that fit my neuro-spicy, easily overstimulated brain.

Maybe it’s your vibe too? I’m growing my team at Amour. NYC hair stylists - let’s grab a coffee & talk more 🌸

Part 2: The Reveal

What’s so exciting about these changes is when the client comes in with a vision and we execute it. Don’t get me wrong, it doesn’t look EXACTLY like the inspiration.

We took pieces of our conversation and became inspired by the look desired and I came up with a plan and BOOM. Stunning results.

This is another fun example of not needing a huge change to feel confident and back to life.

Also, to my fellow stylists out there… play with different hair textures. Don’t settle on what’s easy and miss out on amazing relationships with people who also have rocking heads of hair.

Ps. I love you all tysm bye

Part 1: The Consultation

Wouldn’t you agree that the consultation is the most important part of a service?

If all of these questions aren’t asked thoroughly, how will we get to your end goal looking the way we both expect?

I have been the culprit of conducting consultations that didn’t have my clients and I feeling satisfied in the end… and that’s okay. What matters is we’re HUMAN and we learn from our mistakes. Luckily I have amazing clients that are so gracious, unafraid to speak up and have given us both in the chair and behind it the confidence to HAVE A CONSULTATION.

Thank you Lily for letting me record our process💖
