What an INCREDIBLE Labor Day weekend! 🚵‍♂️🔥

For the fifth year in a row, Catalyst Sports joined Ride Kanuga’s End of Summer Jam to bring adaptive mountain biking to the weekend.

This year’s adaptive race followed an Enduro format, giving our riders experience that helps prepare them to compete in officially sanctioned races. We had a fantastic turnout, more race categories than ever before, and plenty of unforgettable moments. (We’re just going to pretend the heat wasn’t one of them. 😅)

One of our adaptive riders, a quadriplegic, had only ever spent about 20 minutes on a bike during a previous demo with us. This weekend, he not only took on the skills clinic and CRUSHED IT—he also rode the race course!

That’s what this is all about: creating access so people with physical disabilities can experience the thrill, freedom, and community of adventure.

Weekends like this don’t happen without an incredible community behind them. A huge thank you to:
- @ride_kanuga
- @pisgahareasorba
- @grumpysbikeshop
- @fox factory
- @cognativemtb
- @team.mb.adventures

We’re also grateful to @amptbiking for making the trip down from Kentucky to support the race. We really are better together.

Anyone else already counting down to next year? 🙌 An adaptive rider on a three-wheeled mountain bike navigates a forest trail with another cyclist following behind.

Kick off the 2026 mountain bike season with KYMBA Bluegrass at our annual Season Kickoff gathering. This is a casual, come-as-you-are event for riders, families, volunteers, partners, and anyone who cares about trails and outdoor access in Central Kentucky.

Join us to reconnect with riding friends, meet the 2026 KYMBA Bluegrass leadership, and hear a brief “State of the Trails” update—where we’ve been, what we accomplished in 2025, and the exciting projects ahead in the coming year.

Light refreshments will be provided. The event is family-friendly and open to the public.

And yes—we’ll wrap things up in time to get you home before kickoff. Think of it as your pre-game: good people, good conversation, and a shared love for dirt before the Super Bowl takes over the evening.

KYMBA Bluegrass continues to grow through volunteer energy, community partnerships, and shared stewardship of our trails. This is your chance to see what’s coming, learn how to get involved at any level, and help shape the year ahead.

Agenda:

3:00-3:30 - Social Time, Merch, Refreshments

3:30-5:00 - 2026 KYMBA Bluegrass Update
~Welcome
~2025 Year in Review
~2026 Outlook - Project Updates, Event Schedule

Where did your bike take you this weekend? Eric and Matthew rode the Sugarcamp Mountain Trails in Prestonsburg with some people from @bluegrassberms! If you’re looking for an aggressive and technical mountain bike trail that isn’t too far away, this is a great place to check out! The trails are mostly downhill that start at advanced blue and go all the way up to double black. Stop by and ask Eric about his weekend adventure! 🚵🏼‍♂️
