An impromptu half marathon, a new PB, and a proud dad moment! What started as a plan to run just a couple of miles with my son turned into something neither of us expected! He had a 90-minute easy run planned, and I decided to tag along for a few miles. The cooler weather, beautiful sky, and those picture perfect cloud patterns must have worked some magic on us! Around mile 5, my son floated the idea of turning his run into his second half marathon. How could I pass up an opportunity to pace him achieving his goal? My foot was still bothering me, and I tried my best to hide the pain behind my sunglasses. He noticed and even offered to finish on his own, but I reassured him I was fine. We set our sights on a 2:18 finish and kept moving! Then came the unexpected drama! Around mile 10, his watch battery dropped to just 5%, and panic started setting in. As soon as we hit mile 11, I asked him to surge ahead, hoping his watch would survive long enough to record the effort. And he delivered! 2:13:09, a new half marathon PB by over 9 minutes! I rolled in around 2:18, just as we had originally planned. Seeing his excitement and realizing his watch had survived the entire run was such a relief! As for me, it was straight to icing 🧊 that bothersome foot and giving it some much needed recovery time! Race #21 | 10K ✅ Conquered the @runproject Big Texas race! Fall weather is finally here, and what a BEAUTIFUL morning to run! Today was all about Drive. Determination. Relentless Will. And the result? A NEW PR!! 🔥 At mile 5, I called out to Jesus, and He gave me the strength to keep pushing forward. When the race gets tough, He shows up! I may have put in the work, but HE gets ALL the glory! 🙌🏽 “I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me.” — Philippians 4:13 #RunProject #BigTexas #RepAMPT #FaithRunner

A chilly morning in the 40s, made even better by sharing miles with my daughter. I had the joy of pacing her through her very first 10K, her longest run yet. We had a goal of breaking 70 minutes, and she did it comfortably. Between geography, solving math problems, and random general knowledge questions, the miles flew by before we even realized it. As I nurse a foot injury, I’m taking it as a sign to slow down, focus on getting stronger, and shift my attention from chasing my own running goals to helping my kids achieve theirs. I’m looking forward to pacing her through a 10K and a 15K over the next two months as we keep up our monthly racing tradition together. Shorter hill repeats — treadmill edition while the kids played! 🏃🏻‍♀️⛰️ Had to cut the cooldown run short thanks to some potty-training struggles with M 😂 BUT I got it finished later in the day, so we’re counting it! October Race Report (Part 1): Day of the DEAD (literally) Half Marathon Edition! 💀 When you finally decide to get serious about marathon training… on the MORNING of your half marathon… and decide running extra miles beforehand is a fantastic idea. What could possibly go wrong?! 🤣 Saturday’s agenda included 18 total miles: 🏃‍♀️ 4 miles BEFORE the race 🏃‍♀️ 13.1 miles DURING the race 🥴 Almost 1 absolutely awful mile AFTER the race (because apparently, I hate myself just a little 😂) The pre-race miles? Actually fun! Hills galore, miles with a friend, and a gorgeous sunrise 🌅💕 Look at me, out here romanticizing marathon training! The actual half marathon? Let’s just say we’re not going to talk about that part, okay?! 😝😂 Did I love it? NOPE. Did I even like it? Also nope. Am I stronger because of it? ABSOLUTELY! 💪🏼 If there’s one lesson to take away from this, it’s probably that slacking off and then trying to make up for it at the last minute isn’t exactly a brilliant marathon training strategy. But let’s be realistic… that’s how I train, and we’re not here to make any drastic personality changes 🤣🤣 18 miles in the books, another lesson learned, and one step closer to that marathon finish line! 🏅Now excuse me while I pretend this was all part of the plan 💀😂 #runnergirl #runforlife #thirteenpointone #reppingampt #marathontraining

Day of the Dead Half Marathon 🏃🏼‍♀️❤️💀💐🕯️👟 Today completed 18 miles for marathon training. Did my furthest miles yet 🎉. Started the morning running 4 miles with Stacey. We met at my old high school and ran to the junior high and back. Nice run down memory lane. We made it to the race venue and started the race at 8am. Running the half marathon was challenging. The first half I felt great, but the second half was hot. Managed to get it done. Ran my second fastest half. And got third place in my age group. Finished off with running 0.9 cool down to get the full 18 miles in. 💪🏼 ⭐️ Ready to kickoff 2027 with a race? Come run with me on Saturday, January 2nd and kick off the Cinnamon Bun Run 5K & 10K in Plano, TX. Use my code ARIJANA10 to save. ⭐️ No pins! No holes! No magnets! If you’re tired of messing with safety pins before race time, the struggle is officially over. @bibboards are the reusable race bib fasteners that lock in place perfectly. Use my code RACEREADY to be ready for your race. Happy Running! 🫶🏻 #amptambassador #repAMPT #AMPTrunning #21k #bigfootrunning
