#DanceYourWayOut is back! #09_10_2026 at 16:00 & 17:30 As part of One & Only Festival by @flux_laboratory DANCE YOUR WAY OUT is an audio - walking experience, a guided journey for the celebration of movement, and the pleasure of free dance. The participants meet their guides and follow them through fictional voices and guided movement routines, along a public route. Dance Your Way Out draws from the idea of the ‘’dancing plague’’ and dance’s contagiousness - a social phenomenon that emerged during the Middle Ages - and relies on entertainment and the human-body’s ability to fall into rhythm. It suggests a collective experience, towards a tekno-driven dance. It proposes a vibrant and loud experience for the participants, but it stays silent for the observers!  CREDITS Concept & design/ Choreography: Martha Pasakopoulou Material development & Performance: Christina Karagianni, Despina Sanida Crezia, Mary Kate Sheehan, Martha Pasakopoulou Composition/ Sound design: Anna - Maria Rammou Production: Flux Laboratory

TTS Set in a remote mountainous region near Melivia, Greece, this short film is a portrait of a place where the boundaries between memory, folklore, and everyday life gradually disolve. Built around real stories shared by local residents, relatives, and the stories that accompanied me from childhood to the present day, the film combines documentary observation with narrative storytelling. Fragments of lived experience coexist with urban legends, rural myths, personal memories, and inherited beliefs, creating a landscape where fact and fiction naturally intertwine. The film features music by sound artist AMR, whose immersive sonic practice forms an integral part of the film’s atmosphere. In dialogue with the natural sounds of the landscape, the composition expands the space between memory and imagination, inviting the viewer to experience the territory as much through listening as through seeing. 🚨 OSLO — MANEATER returns to the stage! 📅 Thursday, August 6, 2026
🕗 20:00 (Doors open at 19:45)
📍 The Nordic Black Theater, Oslo, Norway
🎟️ Free entrance Presented during Hazem Header’s residency with SAFEMUSE, Oslo. MANEATER by Hazem Header Performed to evocative songs by legendary Egyptian singers and compositions woven from Egyptian politicians’ speeches, MANEATER is a powerful solo dance performance exploring the fractured and toxic relationship between Egypt, its rulers, and its people. Through intricate physicality, Egyptian folk dance, and deeply personal storytelling, Hazem Header navigates the complexities of loving a homeland while confronting disillusionment. Rooted in memories of the Egyptian Revolution, the work reflects on patriotism, oppression, resilience, and the enduring power of hope. Poetic, passionate, and unapologetically romantic, MANEATER imagines Egypt reuniting with some of her most infamous former lovers. Together, they revisit moments of tenderness, nostalgia, and devotion—before watching those relationships inevitably unravel. MANEATER A co-production by NÜT Dance Company, Breaking Walls Festival (Egypt), and Warehouse9 (Denmark). Creation & Choreography: Hazem Header

It took me a while to write and share this post. Coming back from Avignon, I found myself overwhelmed, not only by the experience itself, but by the incredible response to Maneater and I needed some time to sit with everything before finding the words. Reading the reviews and hearing the conversations around the performance has been deeply moving. Critics described Maneateras a solo that captures the “rage of hope” a work that explores the fractured, intimate relationship between the Egyptian people and their homeland. Many reflected on how the performance moves between contemporary dance, cabaret, and political commentary, balancing memories of the Egyptian revolution with the weight of today’s disillusionment. Others saw it as a romantic yet toxic love story, where Egypt becomes a lover reunited with its former rulers and politicians. The contrast between the timeless love songs of legendary Egyptian singers and the cold voices of political speeches resonated strongly, as did the use of drag, lip-sync, belly dance, and the subversion of Egyptian folk dance traditions to reveal how patriotism can slowly transform into oppression. To know that these layers were seen, felt, and discussed was the reminder I needed of why we keep making art, especially in times as dark as these. I just want to highlight that none of this would have been possible without the people who believed in this work long before it reached the stage in Avignon. Thank you to every collaborator, producer, presenter, technician, friend, and supporter who contributed your time, trust, care, and talent throughout this journey. This performance carries a piece of each of you. And to everyone who came to watch, shared their thoughts, wrote about the work, or simply sat with it, thank you. More dates coming up soon! ❤️🌷
