happy wednesday lovelies! holy smokes has it been hot☀️🔥I spent the long weekend hiding inside trying to survive the first little heatwave of summer in the u.k.🥵 yknow as a california girlie, i k n o w hot. i know desert hot, humid hot but jeebus this humid hot with houses built to hold heat? jesus take the wheeellll 😭 oh yeah, and fighting for my life against my allergies🌾🍃

i reaallyyy meant to post this last week but.. forgot. so me honestly💁🏻‍♀️ and trying to organize this so i didnt have wicked in consecutive slides was driving me up a wall ☠️🤣 needless to say, ima big fan of wicked lmao

as someone who sees herself as the “boring/second choice/it could’ve been better” i didnt really think i had much of a personality til my girlies showed me their responses🥹 and tbh? every single one of them slays. 10/10 no notes, i adore these girls like Elsy and her super smutty book club (this months pick, “a novel love story” by ashley poston) which is already so relatable and i’m only on chapter 10!

anywho, without further ado!! what the romantics yappers think of when they think of lil ol’ me! each one is so very spot on, i really feel seen 😩😂

the girlies will have their cutie takes on this trend posted to our (it’ll totes be more active, we sweaarrr) book club insta @theromanticyappers ✨

🌿qotd: what’s the next book on your tbr? (mood readers.. just pick one, i know your pain okay😭😂)

December Book Challenge Day 27: Book Haul

In 2025, I had the pleasure of participating in a birthday exchange hosted by the lovely @morganreads247 - gifted at least one book once a month and received at least 11 books in return during my birthday month - December! Being part of this group also meant SO MANY new additions to my TBR 😂 and getting to know new booksta friends I would never have met otherwise!

Featured today, adorable under the Christmas tree at my mom & dad’s, are the books I was gifted for my birth month. Some well loved authors and some completely new to me, I’m so excited to now own all of these. Thank you so much birthday exchange friends! 💖

Traveling Book Review

Well Jake knocked it out of the park again! This time with an assist from the traveling book club 🍋

This book is haunting and beautiful all at the same time. The story was sad and eye opening but also full of hope, love, and loyalty.
The whole time I was reading it, I was reminded of reading similarly devastating books in high school like Night by Elie Wiesel and They Things They Carried by Tim O’Brien. All books that show you a different side of devastating events in world history; books that should be required reading to keep us from repeating the mistakes of history by showing us the ruin in their wake.

This is my first time participating in a traveling book club. I’m getting the book right about the halfway mark so it’s chock full of tabs and notes from my bookish friends. It was nice to see people’s thoughts and be able to add my own to this book’s journey.

Even if this book isn’t normally your thing, I hope you pick it up and give it a chance. It might leave you feeling wrung out but maybe that’s not a bad thing.

Vibes this book gives: Night by Elie Wiesel, The Things They Carried by Tim O’Brian, Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi

Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

He wants me to stay on track and not get distracted. Such a good boy 🐕
