Seventy7 Magazine | Mooke Micheaux’s Negus

“In a dimly lit room, six Black men stand together, their white shirts catching the faint light against the dark background. Two of them hold guns, their postures unyielding. One man (Our CEO) stands shirtless, his presence commanding. At first glance, the world might label these men as “thugs.” But this photoshoot, titled Negus — the Ethiopian word for “King” — holds a deeper truth. It is a celebration, a declaration, and a challenge.”

Created by the incomparable @mooke.micheaux & Written with a powerful lens by @theadrianjstn , this piece explores identity, perception, and the resilience of Black men reclaiming their rightful place in history. This is strength reimagined, royalty unapologetic.

Let’s talk about the importance of copying! Whenever you’re trying someone new, try to copy it the best way you desire then emulate it in your aesthetic. We get hung up on stealing someone’s idea (which you shouldn’t) but it’s good to look at it as inspiration rather than an idea of your very own. Try something new today!
