THE WAY WE USED TO BE~OUT NOW💘

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

☕️📖 Childhood friends to lovers, second chances, and a man trying to earn his way back into the heart of the woman he never stopped loving? SAY LESS.

The Way We Used to Be by Amarie Wheeler gives us Amara, a plus-size fashion designer finally choosing herself and chasing her dreams, and Theo, the childhood best friend who disappeared eight years ago and suddenly finds his way back into her life.

I loved that this wasn’t just about rekindling an old flame. It’s about healing, navigating mental health, learning to communicate, and finding the courage to let someone love you through the parts of yourself you struggle with. The representation, the mutual pining, the tenderness, and the way Amara’s dreams remained her own throughout the story? YES PLEASE. 🥹

And there’s just something about a slow burn where the history is already there, the feelings never really left, and you’re sitting there begging these two to figure it out!

If you love romances with emotional depth, childhood friends to lovers, plus-size representation, and characters who are beautifully human, add this one to your TBR!

💬 Are you a childhood friends to lovers reader, or do you prefer your love interests to start off as complete strangers?

📚 CINCY BOOKSTORE CRAWL HAUL

📚 Q: What would you grab from this stack?

I had so much fun last weekend hitting up 20 of the 26 indie bookstores on Cincinnati’s Bookstore Crawl. Definitely one of the best weekends of the year!

While I wish I could afford to buy a book at every stop, I had to keep it in check (within reason, of course… a girl can only manage so much)!

Here’s my haul, minus the manga we got from @cin.sei and @manga_cincinnati because my 15 year old absconded with them immediately.

💜 THE MARRIAGE HEX by Sarah Blue from @thecincybookrack (I was so excited to see this one in the wild!)

🧙MEET CUTE MAGIC by Morgan Elizabeth from @joyandmatts (not in this stack because I’m reading it 😆)

💖 LOVE’S A WITCH by Tricia O’Malley from @thecincybookrack

💚 FREE FALLING by Lyla Sage (signed) from @bookerycincy

🧡 THE WAY WE USED TO BE by @amwheeler_author at @majorminorbooksandsuch

🪐 SEE YOU IN THE COSMOS by Jackie Chen from @cincybookbus

💜 BABY-SITTERS CLUB from @bookerycincy

🖤 THINGS THAT GO HUMP IN THE NIGHT by @amwheeler_author from @poorcharlottes

🍁 FALL ME MAYBE by Laney Hatcher from @biketrailbooks

💜 THE SENATOR’S WIFE by Liv Constantine from @campbellkylib

🧢 Hat and bag from @bookerycincy
