Unsung Heroes #2 The friends. The backbone of my diagnosis. What an uncomfortable spot to be in? One of your friends has cancer and there’s nothing you can do to take that pain and fear away. My tribe. They’ve given me a space for normalcy, have helped me continue on with my regular life, watched my kids on a moments notice, and have helped a lot me to process my journey with humour. They’ve come to appointments with me, delivered meals, cozy pajamas, been a shoulder to cry on, and a sounding board for me to vent. They’ve remained on top of my appointments and are sure to check in often. I know how blessed I am to be surrounded by so many men and women that are all in support of me. I couldn’t imagine this journey without them. They are a shining example of how friends should be through this journey. I wish I had room for pictures of all of them - if you have supported my journey in any capacity please know that I love you endlessly and will be forever grateful for you.
