The Addams Family opened on Broadway ten years ago today. Here’s my fav photo of me as Lurch, shot in the lobby of the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on 46th Street, Times Square, by the incredible photographer @amyarbus. Love to all my Addams Fam, today and always 🖤#movetowardsthedarkness #welcometheunknown #theaddamsfamily #lurch #broadway #amyarbus #theaddamsfamilymusical #addamsfamily #musicaltheatre #timessquare #luntfontannetheatre #originalcast #charlesaddams #actorsofinstagram #singersofinstagram #artistsofinstagram #whenyoureanaddams #clandango #deathisjustaroundthecorner #inthearmsofasquid #happysad #lurchaddams

This weeks book recommendation has taken on a whole new meaning, we scheduled to post @amyarbus book 'On The Street 1980-1990' which is a beautiful documentation of New York personality and street style in the eighties but now its context has completely changed as a quarter of the worlds population has been recommended by their respective governments not to go on the streets. it is strange what context can show you what not to take for granted.⠀
⠀
This book is an amazing sense of the personalities that inhabited the city back then, before street style photography became the massive monster that is now is, Arbus was doing it in such a genuine way, capturing the most interesting people on the streets at that time.⠀
⠀
Let us know what you think of her work in the comments.⠀

22 years ago tonite @stephentrask & @johncameronmitchell premiered #hedwigandtheangryinch at the #janestreet theater. She’s had many incarnations since and been played by many people. And she endures. Cheers to many more. By the way that b&w picture was taken by @amyarbus for @rollingstone. rattiest wig ever but one of my favorites. #mikepottermakeup #wigpotter 💋✨
