It was such an important chat about the realities facing parents of autistic children, from balancing caregiving with work pressures, navigating daily judgement, and the lack of support and resources available in Ireland.

I watched this short film by Amy De Bhrún and felt compelled to share it with you.
It’s the story of an addled mother whose autistic son goes missing so she channels his imagination to find him.
It’s poignant, plaintive and very moving.
This is not a world I’m intimate with but Amy has brought her personal experience to the project which may explain its beautiful authenticity.
