What’s a prince to do with a do that just won’t do?!

Prince Bedhead has always had a tough time controlling his hair. He’s tried pastes and potions, but nothing seems to work. Princes are meant to wear crowns! But no crown seems to sit right on his gorgeous flow.

Actor and author Taye Diggs has returned with his newest picture book that follows a young prince who searches for a crown that fits and celebrates his hair.

Marvellously illustrated by @deericku, written by @tayediggsinsta and @shannonstoeke and published by @feiwelandfriends, Prince Bedhead is out now!

Jonathan Woodward (@jonathan_woodward_studio) is a Devon based, award-winning, double Carnegie medal nominated wildlife illustrator, working in both traditional and digital collage.

With a passion for wildlife from a very early age, he was the kid at school collecting bird figurines instead of Star Wars figures!

After studying Graphic Design and working in the industry for many years, always harbouring the dream to combine his two passions of illustration and wildlife, he finally made the leap 12 years ago and hasn’t looked back.

Otherlands, written by Thomas Halliday and illustrated by Gavin Scott (@gavillustrator) is the winner of 2026 Children’s @wainwrightprize for Non-Fiction and the winner of the 2026 Children’s Wainwright Prize of the Book of the Year.’ (

Gavin’s agent Amy Fitzgerald attended the award ceremony along with Bright artists @gordyjwright, and @drawmatthewdraw who were also on the shortlist and spoke brilliantly on each of their panels.

I’m astonished to discover that Otherlands has been announced as winner of the @wainwrightprize for Children’s Non-Fiction AND the overall winner of the 2026 @wainwrightprize Children’s Book of the Year as well!! That is bonkers.

I’m hugely honoured to win the award alongside Thomas who wrote this amazing book. Thanks so much to the judges for choosing Otherlands as the winner. Congratulations to all shortlisted authors, illustrators and to the other category winners. I’m sorry I couldn’t be with you all today at @elmleynature 🎉
