Our next concert features a musical power couple, Amy and Murray with Kevin Gibson on Drums! ⚡️Wed 4 Nov 7PM | Tickets on Quicket. Broadway favourites as well as jazz arrangements of beautiful standards for voice and trombone. Early bird special running until this Sunday 😎 Amy (Vocals) & Murray (Trombone): Amy Campbell and Murray Buitendag are jazz musicians and music educators based in Cape Town. Murray, hailing originally from East London, came to Cape Town in 2011 to study at The South African College Of Music where he met his partner and later wife, Amy. Both graduated in 2014 with distinction and Murray went on to graduate with his Masters of Music in 2025. Together with their quartet the AM Quartet, they toured Sweden in 2015 playing at the prestigious Stockholm Jazz Festival and have been playing their unique blend of trombone and vocal harmony in and around South Africa for over 10 years. This year they were invited to play at the “Journey To Jazz Festival” in Prince Albert. They have both played extensively at both the Joy Of Jazz Festival (JHB) and the Cape Town International Jazz Festival (CT) as well as internationally in countries such as Italy, Australia and Namibia. Amy is also heavily involved in Musical Theatre in Cape Town, having been the Musical Director for various musicals including Spring Awakening (which earned her the Naledi Theatre Award for Best Musical Director in 2025), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and the current production of Stephen Sondheim’s Into The Woods at Theatre On The Bay. They are both music educators with Murray being based at Rondebosch Boys’ High School and Amy at LAMTA - The Luitingh Alexander Musical Theatre Academy at Theatre On The Bay. They both have a special passion for traditional swing jazz and bebop improvisation which made them the perfect fit for a musical pair.

Faces of Journey to Jazz 2026 by Jonathon Rees. @jonathonhrees returned to Prince Albert this year and once again captured our stages, faces, and expressions in a way only he can. As an experienced photographer who has documented live music and performance for many years, we are grateful for the care and depth he brings to these moments. If you didn’t get a chance to see his exhibition, Stillness, during the festival, showcasing some of the most prominent and exciting jazz musicians across multiple stages, it will remain up at the @princealbertgallery until 1 June.
