✨REVIEW✨ - The Between-Worlds B&B by Amy Mae Baxter

Blurb

Margo is bored. It’s the summer before she graduates and she has no idea where her life is going. When she gets locked out, and checks into a lovely B&B, Margo is greeted by surprisingly handsome receptionist, Finn. The rooms are cosy, there’s a grand library and a huge swimming pool, and the breakfast smells amazing.

But Margo soon suspects that it’s all too perfect, and that magic is in the air. She’s fairly sure that one of the other guests is a fairy princess, for one thing. Is this a B&B for magical beings? But Margo doesn’t have a magical bone in her body, so what is she doing there?

My review

This is a fantastic read during October. You felt like you were in the book at the magical B&B (which I think wish was real so I could visit) The ending was lovely but without giving anything away, I’m sad about one of the characters. My only criticism is I wish there was stronger character development. It would have been good to know more about the guests and their backstory. I would have happily of read another 100 plus pages. But overall it was a lovely read that I would recommend.

I had so much fun meeting @lauriegilmore_author and @amymaebaxter last night in London, thanks to @saucybooks. Having already read both Big Bad Wolf and Wild Wicked Mate as an early copy, it was so thrilling hearing all about Laurie’s writing process, her thoughts on her characters across all her books, and plans for future books, even though she could say very little. Discovering Amy was an exciting surprise, I’ve already read a few chapters of The Between Worlds B&B and I can’t wait to get deeper in the story.
Meeting authors is truly one of my favourite things.

Had the absolute privilege of chairing an event with these cool kids in Cheltenham this weekend 😎

We laughed, we cried (we didn’t), we talked mermaids onstage and Real Housewives off. Thank you so much to @harperfirebooks, @amymaebaxter, @kiera.azar and @sfwilliamsonauthor for the lovely experience, and to everyone who came!!! I feel very lucky to have shared a stage with such a talented (and infinitely more eloquent than me) bunch of authors.

We're getting ready for a wickedly wonderful evening with @lauriegilmore_author tonight! We still have tickets available if you’d like to join us!

The big reason why i was back in the great fog: MY FIRST HARPERCOLLINS AUTHOR ACADEMY EVENT!Seeing the HarperCollins office in person was unreal, can’t wait to head back there again to sign my book deal. 😎😎 Really nice to see so many old friends and new faces all with the same dream. My phone died during the event so I couldn’t take more clips but it was sooo fun 🥰 So thankful to be a part of this community and wooo got to meet @amymaebaxter and @elle.andthebooks !!

WARNING: This book may cause an uncontrollable craving for cinnamon buns.

Not to mention a sudden desire to check into a magical B&B... but with those hard to come by, we’ll just stick to the buns.

The Between-Worlds B&B by @amymaebaxter is a wonderfully cosy YA fantasy about Margo, a teenager who feels a little lost in life. When she accidentally stumbles upon a mysterious B&B, she discovers a place filled with magical guests, a rather charming receptionist and some seriously delicious baked goods.

Best enjoyed with a cinnamon bun. Or three.

summer ‘26 highlights include: jeff goldblum, finding hodge the cathedral cat, paddington, beach reading, harrogate crime festival, rosé and chip dates, two lovely hen do weekends, and finding the local cheese and goat festival on holiday in croatia. i also got engaged which was lovely. bring on autumn x
